That should be done on smaller platform. Granted the ACCN isn’t the biggest stage but he should be working out the kinks doing local broadcasts. He’s terrible but glad someone’s enjoying him.

I heard the worst broadcaster ever today. During the Temple ECU game the temple color guy called ECU Eastern Carolina 75% of the time while the play by play was getting it correct the whole time, East Carolina. How can you not know the name of the team you are playing that is in your conference.
Childress was a helluva player at Wake during the glory days of ACC basketball. He is horrid as an announcer.

I rewatched the game and listened to him. He seemed fine.
I thought he was fine. Not annoying at all. Sure, had some missteps "Joe Hugley" but had decent insight. He has an easy enough manner and voice, I am not sure why all the vitriol.
yea the Joe Hugley thing gets on my nerves.. two games in a row... even after correcting himself the first time.. come on man

Actually, I would take Aaron Grey so JH could move to the 4 which is his natural position. He has shown a pretty good mid range game and he's also a good passer from the high post.
Why is it his natural position when his game is literally best with his back to the basket ?
Anytime he takes a jumper - especially a 3- the opposing coach is happy
what he actually needs is Justin Champangie playing the 4-
Good weakside shot blocker, natural rebounder, with a facing the basket game to pull the opponents help side post away from the block to limit double teams on John.

His game is back to the basket now because there is no other option for this team at this time. He is a natural 4 especially if he loses another 30 lbs which is what his goal is for next year. And I didn't say anything about shooting threes. I said mid range.
He’s a natural 5 because his best and most natural skill set are as a center .
Any time he faces the hoop outside the paint the opposing coach is happy .
He’s worse at it, takes him away from rebounding , and limits the fouls he’s drawing .

You do understand that he wants make money playing some day and he will not do that as a 5? He will continue to work on his mid range game and ball handling and passing. And Cappie will have to work with him on these skills and allow him to take the occasional 3. Otherwise he will leave and go somewhere that the coach will work on that with him. You also understand that if Efton Reid had come here like they thought, Hugs WOULD be playing the 4? You are being silly if you don't understand this and again, he wants to lose 15 more lbs this year and another 30 next year which if he does, he will not be as effective just playing the low post.
