PITT 2017 SCHEDULE FANS LOOKING TOWARDS THESE GAMES:
1. @PENN STATE-Pitt Fans looking forward to this Game again, but many more advantages points to Penn State this time around. Penn State 35+ 4 & 5 Stars Recruits, At Beaver Stadium, OC, QB, and Most of Team Back, and want Big Time Revenge. Coach Pat breaks in New OC & QB, and Defense still needs much fixing. Narduzzi shows no fear and has dealt with MSU having to prepare for Michigan in the same position a number of times. I see a Big Surprise! Toss Up!

2. MIAMI-Going against the Best Talent in the ACC Coastal and Coach Richt takes no prisoners. Pitt needs to show they can play and stay with Miami like they did against Clemson in 2016. Big Challenge and will have 11 games to prepare for it at Home on Thanksgiving. Toss Up Lost!

3. UNC-Pitt has played this Team closely since 2013 and needs to get over the Fedora's Hump that just lost their Top DC in Chizek. UNC having to break in a New QB too just like Pitt. Toss Up Win!

4. @VT-Coach Fuente proved he could coach up the Hokies into a Top 25 team and did it in Recruiting too. Pitt needs to stay with VT as both Programs are growing. Good News Pitt has 10 games to improve & Bad News but so does VT? Fuente had VT ready showing increased execution as his season progress just barely losing to Clemson in 2016. Toss Up!

5. OKST-The Top 15 Cowboys of 2016 are back and just as deadly as challenging Pitt early in just the 3rd Game. A win shows continued improvement and a loss so much more to do to progress. Toss Up!

6. @GT-The Yellow Jackets Johnson just works at being better Bees and always improve and bring in 8 to 9 to 10 wins seasons most of the time. Pitt barley has lost to them under Chyrst and barely beat them under Narduzzi. When Pitt can beat them bigger in the coming years it should be winning 9 to 10 games by then, but just the 4th Game and expect a Great Game again away. Toss Up Win!

7. @CUSE-What a game last year expect another one in 2017. Cuse will be vastly improved under Babers by the 6th Game? Toss Up!

8. NCS-An Up and Down Team that can Bushwhack anyone as well be dumped on, depending the Game Plans & Execution. Underestimate them and get beaten, overrate them and maybe a big win. Toss Up Win!

9. UVA-Tough Team & Coach to gauge in 2017. Should be improved but did not do it all of last year? Unknown Challenge in 2017 at Pitt and Panthers should win? Win!

10. @DUKE-Good it is the 8th game again. Coach Cutcliffe has his QB back again, but Pitt better have way better Defense by this game and taking them lightly is what can happen when Pitt played and lost to NU last year in NYC? Win!

11 & 12. YSU & RICE will be fun to watch and Pitt badly needs them to develop New OC & New QB in the 1st and 5th games after PSU, OKST, & GT! WIn-Win!

PENN STATE 2017 SCHEDULE FANS LOOKING TOWARDS THESE GAMES:
1. PITT-Make no mistake about it Penn State Alumni fans are just graving, salivating, and demanding a Big Beating on Pitt at Beaver in 2017. They can't deny it and want it badly than against Michigan or Ohio State. Funny many of PSU Fans deny Pitt is Rival but OSU & Michigan do not respect PSU as Rival either after winning the Big Pretend. The Nittany Lions have a big problem expectations won't be met at 11 Games again, if they go 8 or 9 wins, and lose to Pitt could be ruining season with many Commits second guesses, but beating Pitt is a must Win. Key Chains will be heard tinglings and charming in Beaver Stadium. They are expecting 11-1 or 12-0 this year? Toss Up!

2. MICHIGAN-If there is any Team that PSU Fans hate as much as PITT it is Michigan. This dates back to Big Blue beating Paterno and now Franklin. It is just PSU 7th game but at Home and they do not play much before them but have to 2 weeks to prepare for a Big Beating like they want to do to Pitt too. One problem, Harbaugh has 6 games to have his Top Recruits prepared and don't expect anything less. LOSS

3. @OHIO STATE-If there is any Team PSU Fans want revenge on it is Pitt, Michigan and Ohio State in that order. They want to prove the PSU win was not a fluke and being robbed by CFB Committee still sticks in every PSU Fan stomach. This is the game PSU wants to prove they are not a 2nd and 3rd Tier Team in the Big Ten to Ohio State. Urban Meyer's has much more to prove after the Buckeyes were beaten by the Little Lions Blocked Kick and then wiped out by Clemson. This time Buckeyes have 2 Weeks to prepare for Penn State that just played Michigan? LOSS!

4. NEBRASKA-It is for bragging rights on which Program is better as a 4th-5th Program in the lower Big Pretend. Everyone knows Michigan and Ohio State rule the Big Ten and then there are just the challenging 6 in Wisky, MSU, Nebraska, Iowa, Penn State and Northwestern, followed by the Big Pretend 6 Poor Boys of Maryland, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Rutgers and Purdue. So, if Penn State can't beat Ohio State & Michigan then it is the battle for 3rd to 6th place and not being a Top Tier Big Ten Team again since 1994. Toss Up!

5. @MARYLAND-The Fans are getting more concern with Maryland success in Recruiting and want to end that kind of competition near them with a Big Win. One Big Problem they play in the 12th games and Durkin's Top 5 QB Recruit will be more ready by then and could be a tougher game. Toss Up!

6. @NORTHWESTERN-The Lion Fans need some revenge for Coach Pat Fitzgerald Academic All Americans from the Smallest & only Private Program in the Big Ten with Players as Employees, with 100% Graduation Rates beating James Franklin 4 Times. Twice against Vanderbilt and Penn State and it is the 6th game and NU is all back too. Toss Up!

7. @MSU-The Lions can't forget the shame the Spartans have laid on Penn State and beating MSU last year was not enough. The Lion Fans want a bigger blow out at MSU? MSU injuries are healed but 3 Players are gone soon over a breaking sex scandal. Dantonio has much to rebuild after a disastrous 2016 full of injuries but he did wipe out Notre Shame, but who deesn't these days? Dantonio will coach them back up and upset the Lions. Toss Up Win!

8. @IOWA-Ditto above for the Ferentz's Hawkeyes. They got Bushwhacked at Beaver from start to finish and was actually Penn State's Best Complete Win Game playing all 4 Quarters in 2016. Iowa came back after that loss barely beating Michigan and blew away Nebraska. The Hawkeyes will be better prepared in 2017 but it is still only the 4th Game. Toss Up!

9. 10. INDIANA & RUTGERS-Two Poor Boys trying to grow into Men and little chance of beating Penn State with all players having Big Games! Wins!

11.12. AKRON & GEORGIA STATE-Practice for Back-Ups won't give much a game. Wins!

WVU 2017 SCHEDULE FANS LOOKING TOWARDS THESE GAMES:
1. @OKLAHOMA-Mountaineers fans need to see and beat this team to earn respect in the Big-12 and Nation. Last game of the season tough game to win. LOSS!

2. TEXAS-WVU Fans still want to see another win against Texas at home this time. New Coach and it is is Tom Herman, LOSS!

3. VT-Fans at WVU still compare how they do against Maryland and Virginia Tech especially for the ACC & Big Ten not inviting them. Fuente will have his team ready better than Holgrosen in the 1st Game.Just A Hunch. Toss up Loss!

4. OKLAHOMA STATE-Still needing a win over a Top Ranked Big-12 Team, did not happen again in 2016, not likely in 2017 either even at Home. LOSS!

5. 6. 7. @TCU, @BAYLOR, @KSU-Beat them all in 2016 and can do the same in 2017, but Closer Games. Toss Up, Toss Up Win & Toss Up Loss!

8. TEXAS TECH-Beat them badly away and will win at home again. Win!

9. 10. 11. 12. IOWA STATE, EAST CAROLINA, DELAWARE STATE, @KANSAS-Practice Games and Delaware State may be the Best Competition. Four Wins!

Confirmation On What Are The Top Games For Pitt, PSU, 8 WVU, I believe there will be a White Out of 110,000 at Beaver:
Must-win and trap games of 2017: Penn State Nittany Lions:
It may be ridiculously early, but we’re examining what will be the must-win game and the potential trap game for each league team this fall. Up next: the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Must-win game: Sept. 9 vs. Pittsburgh. Last year’s renewal of a great college football rivalry served as one of the few low points during a great season in Happy Valley. The Panthers beat Penn State 42-39 after quarterback Trace McSorley threw an interception at the edge of field goal range of the Nittany Lions’ final drive of the game. The Week 2 rematch in 2017 provides McSorley and company their first real chance to keep momentum rolling (They open the season against Akron) after a strong finish this past fall. With a conference title under his belt, James Franklin’s next box to check on the way to returning Penn State to the success its huge fan base expects will be beating its top in-state rival.

Good summary. The only change i would make is placing OK State directly after Miami. They return a starting QB and WR who absolutely lit up the PITT secondary last year. UNC is going to take a step back, as well VT, since both are losing players at high profile positions (QBs).

-I think North Carolina is in major trouble. Lost their starting QB, Top 3 RB's, Top 3 WR's, 2 starting OL plus 2 more left the team. They also lost what, 6 coaches already this offseason? They have 1 RB on the roster that has 40 career yards, zero QB with any experience, and next to nothing left at WR and on the oline. Dead last in the Coastal is a real possibility for them. Cant have a bunch of freshmen plugging holes all over the roster with brand new coaches all over the roster. If this was Pitt they would have to shut the board down because of negativity with all this turnover.

While UNC is going to be breaking in some players at key positions, they have also recruited pretty well over the past couple of years. Look for them to struggle a little early in the season, then possibly build towards a 6-6 or 7-5 type of finish.

I think Fedora will have them ready again, he is a very good coach, and until Pitt learns to beat him, that is what the Pitt Coaches & Team must overcome. This year Schedule is just as tough as last year if not tougher. Clemson is gone but PSU, OKST, GT, Duke, Cuse, have QBs and almost all back, Miami, VT, & UNC have had good Recruiting Years and NCS is the New Team added with Rice. YSU & UVA will give Pitt a good game too.

Pitt Toughest Games:
PENN STATE
MIAMI
OKST
GT
VT
UNC
CUSE
DUKE
NCS
UVA
YSU
RICE

-New QB, All new RB's, all new WR's except Proehl, New Oline, New Offensive Coordinator, New RB Coach, New WR Coach, New DB Coach, New Dline Coach, New DC Coach. Good luck Carolina, I expect you to get buried next year in the ACC. They have the lowest returning production on offense in the last 8 years in all of D1 football per espn and espn did not go back any further than that. And thats with all new coaches. And they get swing games with Louisville and NC State on the road. Good luck. Pitt, big, over that team.

Everything you posted is accurate! The problem in what I see is Pitt does not play UNC until the 10th game, that gives Fedeora 9 Games to be make his Team Better.

The Good News Pitt has a Bye Week before and chance to prepare and get healthy if there are some Injuries?

The Bad News so does UNC has the same bye Week?

Yet, still a tough game.

Posts like these give me life during the way too long off-season. Is it September yet?

Will be interesting to see how things go. I'm not as optimistic as most of you guys about the PSU game, but all isn't lost if they don't get it done there (besides bragging rights obviously - but with the tougher schedule I have doubts PSU will even match the season they had this past year).

I'm hoping for at least a 9 win season trending upwards with the D improving and the offense getting into a groove with the young players as well as some of the returning talent. But it won't be easy.

Good Post by you too.

I have the exact same misgivings, but I did in 2015 and 2016, and my misgivings were put to rest. Coaching is still doing its job on rebuilding much more than I expected and that is under 3 OCs! Coach Pat is right to concentrate on OC & Coaching Stability is brought to Pitt for few years. I am really expecting a very Big Surprise on the DLs & DBs from Coaching & Recruiting now paying off.

Coach Pat's judgment as Head Coach has been very good even with Chaney & Canada coming and leaving. I expect the same with Watson and Pitt has the Players in the Line up on Offense to continue it.

Coach Pat is actually doing a better job Rebuilding Pitt's team than PSU Franklin. Coach Pat without a stable Athletic Department and without the Program Resources at Penn State that Franklin enjoys and employs, still Coach PN in 2 years, stayed with and actually beat and play against tougher competition than Frankljn the last 3 years?

The way I see the Pitt Defense in 2017, is the addition of Coach Partridge that without a doubt will improve the DLs on defending the Run, Pressures, and Sacks. At the same time, this will help the DBs and LBs.

Moreover, the Pitt DBs 2016 Redshirts Players plus Whitehead and Healthy Hamlin, with a Talented Ford, and the rests are bigger, faster, and more experience and they can execute better with DEPTH!

The LBs are Rebuilding and that may take some time. Still, if the DLs can improve and DBs too, that will give them some time on LBs to be better too. This is the BIG SURPRISE I see happening and in the PSU & OKST Games.

Meanwhile, the Special Teams were Very good in 2015, and Great to Elite in 2016, they will be just better too in 2017, even with a New Kicker.

However, regarding your worries and my own, it really is Pitt Depth is still improving but Injuries can still impact on the Units Play. Pitt Depth can be Pitt Near Death if Injuries happen more than 2015 and 2016 until Pitt Depth Roster Charts start to fill up. QB Peterman escaped Injury until the Bowl Game is a prime example.

Still, Pitt Coaching has the Recruits & Players Attitude Changed, Focused on Off Field Film Rooms, and they Love Playing together. Once Coaching Stability is achieved in 2017 this Team can take off and improved Recruiting will come.

They still have Austin Prohel back at WR, and Pitt never beat them since joining the ACC.

Pitt had them Beat from 2013-2016 it was some Special Team Playing Chryst never had, and Narduzzi missed on one down. I agree, until Narduzzi beats Fedora, Pitt has to prove it...but all 4 games could have went either way. It was just Chryst & Narduzzi 1st and 2nd Years too? Fedora has been a Head Coach far longer and UNC did not close out the season that great either.

It will be a tough game again but Pitt will be it in again too!

You're right, they were on a free fall to close out the year, losing back to back games against their hated rivals Duke and NC State, then losing their Bowl game.
