But both quarterback Nate Peterman, who also called the No. 25 ranking for the Panthers "encouraging," and coach Pat Narduzzi, who said "it is what it is," can agree that getting a little bit of national attention can stir up motivation rather than cause complacency if handled appropriately.
"Even after the Virginia Tech game, that was big, but Coach Narduzzi kind of told us they don't give out midseason awards and there's no championship in the middle of the season," Peterman said Monday. "Our goals are right in front of us and this is just going to motivate us more."
