This is how you know that ranks are bs. If Pitt wins out (which it should) and Notre Dame and Duke (split which is a real good possibility), Pitt will finish fourth in conference (as Louisville is out) ahead of both teams based on head to head (Yes people, head to head something many of you said means nothing when doing your Jamie and Pitt basketball bashing). But yet both teams are ranked higher and according to Lunardi Duke is a four seed ( which makes it one of the top 16 teams in the country) and the irish a 6 seed, while Pitt is a 9 ? Basically it says to me that rankings and to some degree bracket seedings are like a beauty contest and it's who the voters like the best not who really is the most beautiful (or best team). Another point. Why does a conference champion get a 16 seed (or play in game) when a big 5 conference's number 7(or higher) bid gets a higher seed? Easy. If that didn't happen it's possible that a #1 or # 2 seed may get upset (remember RMU in 2010). Can't wait to see how Pitt is seeded (and ranked) If the first scenario plays out and love to see opinions. Because unless the other two beat Pitt in the ACC tournament or win the tournament Pitt should be higher seeded and ranked. Period !!!!
