Surviving in Pennsyltucky
I'm not bright enough to find it and share it on here but there is a touching ESPN piece on Rashad Jennings that aired this morning. Rashad had a productive year here at Pitt during Wannys first year. He had to leave Pitt and went to Liberty near his home to be near his ailing father. Very sad and heartbreaking what his father is going through. He wants to see his son play and can't do it.

I think we all should be fans of Rashad and think of him as another Panther. He seems to be a great young man too.

A bit more to the story. Wanny wanted him to become a fullback and he wanted to stay at RB. This also contributed to him leaving Pitt for Liberty. I still root for the young man

Rashad would have had a great career here. He was a tough, bruising runner. It is great that he has made it in the league like he did.

How do you know that?

He still had to leave to help his dad. There was a big article on it at the time.

Funny I've never heard this Jennings-to-fullback claim until now.

I never heard the fullback thing either, but think back to then. Conredge Collins played some running back and eventually became our fullback. Shane Brooks played some running back, then basically became the 3rd string fullback that never played. If that did happen with Jennings, then Wanny really over valued the fullback position. It's important in pro style offenses, but my god to try and move every running back on your team to fullback just seems ridiculous.

I find this hard to believe when you look at the absolute lack of RB on this roster. http://www.pittsburghpanthers.com/sports/m-footbl/archive/06-football-roster.html

Well, Wanny wasn't very bright, so I guess I believe it afterall. So other than LaRod, who was going to play RB?
They were counting on LaRod and Kevin Collier.
I will remind everybody that LaRod had a nice NFL career so Wanny wasn't too stupid...except for QB's LOL
