Really a 3/4 seed if you exclude the 1-3 start…

That is a big if and something that can’t be excluded, but we are the team I hated for Pitt to play in the tourney. Better than their seed reflects and capable of winning against quad 1 talent. A team that can play defense but also go off if they are hot. Curious where they end up, but had they beaten VCU, Vandy, Clemson, they would be top 15 ranked right now. Conversely, a couple bounces the other way and off the bubble.

Yeah those losses and especially how bad they were points differential are killing us now.

Imagine if Pitt performs the rest of the way and gets a lower seed because of who we were in November.

If the committee were to underseed Pitt, we’d be disappointed. But they have to get it right because they have a responsibility to the rest of the teams in the bracket that first weekend.

ya, the thing that sucks and cannot be assigned a selection metric is the possibility that if Pitt played Michigan and West Virginia on a neutral court right now Pitt would probably be favored...

Actually, if you look at the metric sites that closely mirror what Vegas does, if we played Michigan today on a neutral court it would be pretty close to a toss up, and we'd be a clear underdog to the Hoopies, whether the game was played at a neutral court or if it was played at the Pete again.
