Recent former Panther transfer updates.....

just for the hell of it:

• Adam Bertke-transferred to D2 Findlay so he doesn't have to sit out a year. Has seen only spot duty.
• Luke MacLean-Eastern Michigan. 2 year starter at DT and having a nice career in the MAC.
• Tra'Von Chapman-still a backup in his RS Jr. year at Akron, but got the start last week due to the usual starter's shoulder injury and led the Zips to a win last week against Kent Read, Kent Write, Kent State.
• Jaquan Davidson-transferred to Duquesne, as a junior has 2 catches for 5 yards.
  
• Chad Voytik-won starting job at Arkansas State but struggled, shared snaps with the backup, and AkSU went 0-4 to start the season. Voytik has lost the starting job.

Always interesting to see what these guys end up doing. I guess we were excited about Voytik and Chapman had some hype. Davidson was supposed to be an excellent athlete.

Be nice to have Luke Maclean right now - our DTs looked pooped in the second half against Marshall.

Bertke was tall.

Luke MacLean's departure surprised me. He played a position of need, but didn't hang around long enough to reap the benefit of that situation.

Was his transfer for a reason other than football? I dunno.....

Those that watched Chad in high school, ones whom I respect, few that post here as a matter of fact, told me , he was not P5 material, and they were ridiculed here unmercifully, I remember. Football with feathers says the sheep

Add in the following:

Chris Wuestner - (former #17) - Grad Student - IUP - didn't play for Pitt last year due to serious kidney/spleen injury in one of last few practices....played on kick teams a lot and lettered 2 years ago, saw some time as the 3rd/4th receiver in some situations, had a few catches.

Enrolled at IUP VERY late, like the day or two before classes started.
1st Game - 2 catches, 17 yards
2nd Game - Started, 8 catches 169 Yards, 1 TD, 50 yard catch
3rd Game - Started, 0 Catches, but had fumble return of blocked punt for TD
4th Game - Started, 5 Catches, 143 Yards, 1 TD, 47 Yard Catch

IUP is currently ranked #6 in Division 2

The kid just wanted to play.... one more year. He knew he wasn't going to get much time if any at WR at Pitt and understood that. Got his degree from Pitt, appears no regrets.

MacLean is 16th in tackles on Eastern Michigan - a MAC team. He averages a little over 1 tackle a game. He is 6-4 260lbs. He was not going make an impact here.

Agree.....I'll be up there 10/15 for Homecoming, going to the game for sure. My wife knows his mom. He is a very nice kid.

Believe he was ticketed for DE here. Perhaps he would have shaped his body differently. We'll never know.
