Record 42 Bowls approved

Oh, thank goodness. There were not enough bowl games. Daddy likes him some internet startup.com bowl.

As long as we still get to go to Birmingham every year, I don't care how many other bowl games there are.

Middle aged guys always complain about there being too many bowls. What they don't take into account is the fact that Middle Tenn State vs Wake Forest @ 2PM in the who cares bowl is a heck of a lot better programming than a rerun of King of Queens.

I agree, who cares if there are a lot of bowls? Minus the playoffs they're all just exhibition games. If you have a problem don't watch.

My view is that I've long defended the Bowls and the BCS (which was a two team playoff). A large part of it is because the bowls give your team the chance to end the season with a meaningful win and a championship.

Obviously, I think 42 bowls/championships is a bit too much. There's one thing in being the Orange Bowl champions or Sun Bowl Champions. It's another thing to try to claim a Compass Bowl or Taxslayer.com championship.

That said, no one is forcing anyone to watch these things. And apparently the market is there.
