Tight ends have been a focal point for Pitt in the class of 2016, and the Panthers offered another tight end prospect last week.
"I got offered by Pitt on Wednesday," Southington (Conn.) tight end Jay Rose told Panther-Lair.com. "I started talking to them two or three weeks ago, and I called Coach (Tim) Salem and he told me they were offering me.
"I was surprised; I didn't think it would come that quick since I was only talking for a few weeks. But he said he likes the film a lot and he wants me to come visit, so I'm going to get down there this spring. I'm just not sure when yet."
Rose has seven offers, and while he's considering all of them - plus a few other schools - he likes what he knows about Pitt so far.
Rose is being recruited by Pitt as a tight end but he played quarterback last season. Here are his junior highlights.
