The 2 best players on offense are from Delaware (O'Neill and Henderson). There aren't a lot of recruits coming out of that state, but maybe it is a little underrated.

I live in eastern PA, but right on the PA/Delaware line. I've been posting on here for several years now about Delaware and specifically Salesianum H.S. That's O'Neil's h.s. It's a top academic Catholic h.s. in Wilmington. Obviously they recruit from both Delaware and PA.. They more often than not are either the top or one of the top football programs in Delaware. They also play some top out of state programs. They're playing in Maryland this year, last year they played Father Judge in PA. A few years ago they went out to Ohio and beat a pretty solid Steubenville H.S. program.

Chryst recruited O'Neil, not sure if he recruited Henderson out of nearby A.I Dupont H.S.
Remember the QB who verballed to Pitt, and then and followed Chryst to Wisconsin. He's their
starter by the way. He comes from nearby Malvern Prep, another top academic Catholic h.s.
that also recruits. Well, he must have left an impression, because that's where our top current
QB recruit, Doyle is from.

I've also wondered if Chryst, of all people could haul these guys in, why can't we ht this
area harder. I know, I know...we all can rattle off some eastern PA recruits we get, but it's a drop
in the bucket given the talent that's in this area.

Flacco is from Jersey like Pickett and played at Delaware after some tutorship by Walt at Pitt. Jersey Players are very good and Delaware too.

Yes we occasionally land a few players from these areas and hit the motherload with Henderson and O"Neill as these were Delaware's top players. We get decent players from Jersey but not their
top.

It's eastern PA that I feel we have not enough presence. Being one of only a few PA Div 1 teams (Temple is an afterthought here) we IMO, should be able to do much better. PSU reigns supreme
here, but they can't get them all. Notre Dame, UVA, BC, Cuse, all hit this are very hard. I'd like to
see us do better than these schools.

Lived in this area for the last 28 years. There are usually a handful of division 1 recruits in Delaware each year. Before O'Neil Pitt was never very active in the area. WVU and UPS have over the years plucked a few good players from Delaware. My son went to Salesianum and I can say it's probably one of the top if not the top FB programs in Delaware.

Don't always have the craziest of athletes, but Godwin and Q are both from there and both are NFL players. A few years back, Troy Reeder could possibly be a player to look at as big time post collegiate. Currently there is Avery Roberts who is Nebraska bound. However otherwise, it's about one guy a year who turns into a draft worthy player.

No program is going to make a living recruiting Delaware. That said it's always smart to keep an eye out where few others are looking.
