RECRUITING MATTERS

If 50% of 4 star or better qbs pan out, and as a program you carry 4 four star or better qbs on the roster, the risk is mitigated...because recruiting matters.

A major financial commitment from the school is needed to make a jump in recruiting, just look at the recruiting budgets of the top schools in the country.

**** happens. Clemson was a vastly superior team who won a national championship with some of the best talent they ever had and they lost to Pitt last year. Also plenty of other examples obviously (notably App. St./Michigan - there's your FCS program).

Hope it's an aberration and move on. Trying to avoid snap judgments and way too early assumptions for the season.

There is huge difference between beating a team once and consistently being a top 10-15 team.

Well obviously, we need to get to being consistent as opposed to just relishing in playing spoiler.

My point with that post is just how weird things happen in games sometimes, acknowledging that rather than blanket statements like "we suck, no talent, 3-5 win year." Let's give it a few more games.
