I posted an update today on 2017 Good Counsel OL Naasir Watkins. He's visiting Penn State this upcoming weekend, so it's mainly centered around that visit.
However, I know there hasn't been much posted about him, so I asked about Pitt. Here's the quote he gave me...
"With Pitt, they told my coach that they wanted to offer me about a month ago. That one came kind of out of the blue. Our D-Line coach and recruiting coach, Kevin McFadden, he deals with most of the coaches and getting our film out there, things like that. He was talking to Pitt on my behalf and that's how I eventually earned an offer."
He hasn't really been speaking with anyone from Pitt yet, which is why I didn't write more on Pitt in this update. That may actually seem strange that he has an offer but isn't really speaking with anyone, but I've seen this take place at Good Counsel a few times. They really want to keep their guys focused on the season and all that, so come December and January, I expect Watkins to start speaking with one or two coaches regularly.
