Just spoke to Pitt commit Tony Butler, and he made it clear that he still very much considers that title to be appropriate. In fact, after visiting Pitt today and seeing the campus - which he hadn't seen prior to committing - Butler says he is set on Pitt. He previously said he was going to announce on May 5 whether he was sticking with Pitt or reopening his recruitment; now he says that May 5 is no longer a relevant date. He knows right now:
"I made my final decision. It's Pitt."
To that end, Butler told me he doesn't intend to take any more visits or consider any other schools. So that's where things stand right now. Obviously, we'll continue to monitor this situation, but he seems pretty confident about sticking with Pitt at this point.
