I’m not really a fan of the conference tourneys. I know a lot of money is involved, but back-to back-to back games raise risk of injury, fatigue, and for not a whole lot of benefit. Instead, to settle the what conference should get most bids, why not do an end of year conference challenge at a neutral site? First B1G vs first Acc, and down the line. Let UNC play a similar big team for a chance to get in rather than BC. Maybe it would spoil the tourney games and matchups to come, but I’m curious how the records would change from the beginning of the year to the end.

Financially, play half games in Greensboro and half in Indianapolis or wherever that tourney is.

No but I've been saying for years that teMs should play pretty much all P6 games. So you go 16-15. So what, you make the NCAAT.

Conference tournaments are dumb. Especially for the 28-4 team that hasn't been to the tournament in 20 years and loses to some red hot 16-17 team in the final. But also because they're like a meaningless exhibition to some teams, sandwiched between a regular season that matters and NCAA Tournament that matters. Like, Kansas probably doesn't care what they do in the Big 12 Tournament.

But the entire NCAA basketball model is based on pretentious, manufactured postseason excitement, so they're not going anywhere. I get that all playoffs are like that to an extent, but NCAA hoops takes it to a new level.

Mid-majors should have a play-in game between the regular season champ and the tournament champion. Take the OVC for example, Morehead State won the league by 3 games but lost in the semis. The play-in game should be this weekend at a neutral site between Morehead State and Southeast Missouri State

Wow. Most of us loved the conference tournaments when we were in the Big East playing at MSG.

I think they are a lot of fun to watch. Some teams play like they don't want to be there, others play like their lives depend on it. By the semifinals, it's pretty high level competition, chasing a conference championship. I have a feeling attitudes might change somewhat if Pitt is still playing Saturday night.
