    https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/31/politics/red-states-blue-cities-coronavirus/index.html

This is interesting. The party of "your parents must die for our money" isnt shutting states down even though their big city mayors (mostly Democrats) are shutting their cities down. While I think most Americans have come together on this and most have similar views, this shows you how the divisions are still there. As you can see from this and our resident message board idiot, Buffet/Pitt Family 2, some still don't take the virus seriously enough.

Giant slums need to be told what to do. Rural communities are smarter.

The scientists like Fauci and Birx agree that all areas should not be handled the same, including being shut down. Not everyone is afraid of the dark. Some actually follow the science.

Does anyone actually live in a Republican state?

There's little reason to close rural shitholes where no one lives.

Well I know you’ve totally gone down the doom and gloom road entirely and “haven’t bought your season tickets yet for Pitt football”, but if you listen to Fauci he’s gone the glass is half full route. I know this infuriates you but he thinks we will be in a much better place come Fall when the virus resurfaces. The private and public sector are stepping up and will have us better prepared, but I don’t think we are going to be as close on vaccines and therapies as he thinks. I’m skeptical in this manner because of my profession. We will have sports in the Fall, it’s just a matter of how and when. I could see the NFL season getting pushed back or even playing an abbreviated season. No way camp starts in July and I don’t see stadiums full in September.

That is because there are less people and that's because not many people want to live in those shitholes. I could have probably probably bought 1000 acres in Greene County for what I paid for my new house in the burbs.

Can we stop with the shithole stuff? There are city slums and lots of trash in Appalachia. I'm a liberal city dweller who prefers rural life.

Another dumb decision. The mineral rights on 1000 acres would pay you handsomely and you’d be able to afford the 9.95 for rivals Premium.

OGM rights are typically sold separately so, no. Also, I had premium and didn't find it to be worthwhile though I wouldn't rule out getting it again.

I get to laugh at all of SMF’s crazy and speculatory posts and threads about recruiting when If he were on the pay boards he would know how outlandish they really were because there is info there that doesn’t hit the free boards. that’s worth the 9.95 alone!!

And honestly, the free boards are a cesspool. The pay boards have a way of weeding out the garbage.

Trump, Pence, and the key medical professionals are all asking people to stay home to mitigate the virus. If it isn’t an urgent need, then stay home.

A few statistics from US News and World Report state rankings that were given in our local paper. Some of you who are biased against dems and cities might not like:

Bottom 10 states for health care are red states.
9 of bottom 10 in crime and corrections are red.
7 of bottom 10 in education are red.
7 of bottom 10 in the economy are red.

The point is that red state thinkers value freedom over group results. The way they see it, they'd rather be allowed to choose to be worse, than be forced to conform for the sake of a common good.

I would be shocked if your house was worth 50% of mine. Maybe you have a great house but its in the middle of the wilderness where nobody wants to live so it has very little value.

Oh SNAP. The Florida Gov. became the first GOP governor (I think, maybe Tennessee?) to shut the state down. Maybe other "your parents must die for our money" Governors will follow.
