Wow. He never struck me as a future coach but he has advanced up the ranks as high as anyone whereas BK has basically been on a downward trajectory for the last 10 years. I wonder if BK is really "in this game" or if he's comfortable. Will be one of the highest paid assistants in the big ten
Lol BK is 4 years younger and is making more money at Rutgers than he was at Pitt and has helped a second “also ran” program become a perennial contender in their conference. Ricky’s progression is great and he may be the next head coach or a head coach before BK but BK is doing ok for himself. His career is not on a “downward trajectory”.Wow. I never thought of Greer as the next Pitt coach but if Underwood thinks that highly of him, he is someone who will get an interview.
He was a 20 something in the 2nd or 3rd chair for a Top 10 program. The program took a turn for the worse while he was there and he left for the worst P6 program. That is a downward trajectory. 15 years in the game, he still isnt an AHC and is getting on HC interviews anywhere.Lol BK is 4 years younger and is making more money at Rutgers than he was at Pitt and has helped a second “also ran” program become a perennial contender in their conference. He hasn’t gotten HC interviews that you’ve heard of, no.He was a 20 something in the 2nd or 3rd chair for a Top 10 program. Congratulations! Always good to see a Pitt Man do well. Will be one of the highest paid assistants in the big ten

Compared to their history??? I meant perennial ncaa tournament bid which next year would be their 3rd straight had 2020 not been cancelled. The job Pikiell has done there is one of the best in the NCAA.Ricky Greer is an under appreciated pitt great. His last year he led them to the big east championship which propelled Pitt to it’s golden era. Brandon night gets a lot of the credit for the Pitt turnaround and deservedly so. But Ricky Greer is a forgotten part of Pitt history IMO.
middle of the road B10 teamDon't disagree on BK, but Rutgers a perennial contender? LOL. More like middle of the road B10 team.
I meant a perennial contender for an ncaa bid which they will be as long as Pikiell will be there.middle of the road B10 team
And that for the last 2 years only. Bottom of the barrel the rest of the time.
2021-22 season not looking promising for them with their roster losses.
If someone was to say Steve Pikiell is doing a good job there, I'd have no disagreement. But when someone says Rutgers is now a "perennial contender" in their league, that's patently absurd.
You said "perennial contender" in their league.Compared to their history???
Dayton could win with SMF as head coach. Rutgers is the 2nd worst job in the big ten
Yea. They will indefinitely be competitive in their league with Pikiell. Dude is unreal. Thx for proving my point! You said "perennial contender" in their league.
1. They've never contended for anything in the B10 or any league;
2. Definition of perennial:
perennial
[ puh-ren-ee-uhl ]
adjective
lasting for an indefinitely long time; enduring: her perennial beauty.

LOL. every year, and for every game, for that matter.By the definition of the words, every team in every conference us a perennial contender. 🙄
You should change your handle to Steve Pikiell Fan.Yea. They will indefinitely be competitive in their league with Pikiell. Dude is unreal. Thx for proving my point!
I don’t believe it’s been announced yet. It was expected Ricardo was going to follow O. I was surprised Pastrana opted for Florida instead of Illinois even though he’s a Florida guy. So they’re back at square 1. They bumped up Geoff Alexander and hired Chester Frazier but I believe there’s one spot left.@BballinsiderfromPitt, who did Illinois hire instead?
