Any idea when Pitt will announce the game time for Rice? Hoping for a late afternoon slot, given the game and the fact that the Buccos are on the road.
This is so ridiculous. This game would scream night game or late afternoon since the Succos are out of town. Is it because Root sports is televising it?It's been announced. Noon kickoff.

What kind of draw do you think it is?

Do I need to go in to all the reasons why Noon games suck? I am sure there are many loyal fans(those with or without season tickets) with young children that cannot attend due to activities by said children during the day on Saturdays. I know of at least a dozen people in which this is the case. This is just one example of why Noon sucks.
Fox Sports South does a noon game every week and for that week, its Pitt/Rice. Bad news is that someone wants to televise it.

Fixed.
To athletics?Yee ha.. you losers can watch Bojangles and mellow mushroom commercials. I will be at the game. Souf how much do you donate. trust but verify.
The Squirrel Hill Rain Cloud blows in and I'm hoping for a wind shift ( to Ohio) to correct the situation! To athletics?
Now only $500.
Gutted my athletics donation in 2010 ..when I gave up
Just enough for my north club seats .
We have 4 together now, though by buddy make sure the donation for the other pair- by his choice .
We moved back in September of last year- so we're finally using our tickets for the first time in 5 years.
Wife and I give a couple grand to the school of pharmacy annually, instead .
Seems a better use of our money, as we know that's helping .
FSS had to choose between Pitt/Rice, BC/Cent Mich, and Lou/Murray St. It took Pitt/Rice, leaving BC and Lou to stream-only but the benefit to that is they can kick whenever they want.

Actually the Louisville - Murray State game is also a RSN telecast starting at 3:30. Only the BC - Central Michigan game is streaming only.
Dang, Louisville vs FCS got the better slot over Pitt vs FBS? That's pretty low....but when you give up 49 in the first half....
Drop the root sports coverage and force any local fan wanting to see Pitt to actually attend the game.
It's not our choice.
This is a constant irritant for me - I don't understand why Pitt ALWAYS seems to have 12 PM kickoffs, outside of a few games every so often. I used the example of NCSU the other day and they seem to have late afternoon or early evening kickoffs for the most part.
Call me crazy but I think attendance would be better for later kickoffs and at the very least, it gives fans an extra incentive because tailgating is a ton easier later in the day than at 10 AM.
JMO.
It's almost like it's a contract which we have to honor for those tens of millions in tv money we get, right?I know, it never is. Pitt's AD has no voice and no say in anything ever.

Steve pushed a 3:30 pm kickoff. I swear I remember reading a quote from him saying this. He wanted a 3:30 pm kickoff time at home when possible. I'll look for quote but I remember him saying this in an interview. What was the point of Steve's survey several years back where he asked about game starting times? If Pitt can't control that, the question isn't much relevant.
I find it funny that pitt fans still ask what time is kickoff?

You think that Pitt football has a TV contract with AT&T Sports for 1 game? Or do you think American Sports Network has a $10 million contract out there to show conference usa? Quick google searches show you that conf usa doesn't get $10's of millions of dollars drom ASN...in fact it tells you that ASN is going under and barely pays for sporting rights.
So could Pitt reuqest a blackout for their local audience and offer fireworks at night to get a decent crowd for the Rice game? I still say yes.
Some of you would bitch if it was 330 , 600, 700, 800, etc...
