RIP Kamakaze Kid

During Covid, we took a trip with my daughter to Pittsburgh to go to the museum and walk around campus. Kind of a field trip. After eating at the O and taking some pictures with the Panther, we strolled over to see what Chas had. We bought a few things for my kid and he took his time and talked to her. Was really kind. Gave her a free t-shirt. Just a good dude and a fixture in the community. Will miss seeing him when we visit campus.

Visit the Pitt Stop every time I'm back in the Burgh and on campus! One of my fondest memories as an undergrad was chatting with him and then to be able to buy gear for my wife and kids and continue to catch up with him all those years later was awesome!

I'm very sad to hear this news. He was not only a legend he was just a super nice guy and gentleman. He wasn't there the last time we stopped by this summer...but his family was. They were super nice as well. Hoping they continue the tradition.

Pitt's campus won't be the same. They should absolutely put up a statue to remember him. RIP Chas.
