Rose bowl?

Yeah, the whole calling it the Rose Bowl while playing in the most sterile fan environment in football just doesn't sit right with me.
They need to ditch the bowl designation for the playoff games, just call it the College Football Playoff Semi-Final or Final presented by whatever sponsor. Even in normal times it’s weird to see match up’s like Bama-ND in the Rose Bowl.
Correct. Texas isn't as concerned about COVID despite having a much higher death rate than California.
Texas has 983 deaths/million and California just 665. And this is despite many people saying California is making up COVID death numbers to make it seem worse than it is. So California's death rate may even be lower. California actually has the 11th lowest death rate in the nation.
We were just talking about that ahead of this second game. Let the playoffs be the playoffs and let the best of the rest get the big bowl experience.
I don’t know if they would agree to that. When OSU goes to the playoffs and the Rose Bowl is a semifinals location, at least they have a chance at landing them. If not, they still get a great playoff matchup. They’re not gonna pass that up for a lame Big Ten runner-up vs. barely top 25 Pac-12 team matchup.
Quit trying to twist the numbers to fit your narrative. When death rates are low you talk about cases exploding, when cases are lower only then do you start mentioning death rates. You’ve been doing this for 9 months now.
Just stop with the spin, California is having some of their worst issues during the entire pandemic right now. Anyone that lives there will tell you this.
What is the spin? The numbers are the numbers. Texas is much worse and that's despite it not hitting there till the summer.

If Texas had a Dem Gov, you’d have been bragging about how good they did to prevent the spread of COVID all summer.
I haven't watched a single playoff game in their existence where the playoff game felt like the bowl where it was being held. It's the college football playoffs and it has a completely different feel than a bowl game, IMO.
1942 played at Duke’s Stadium. Different circumstances call for different solutions.

When is the Cotton Bowl? Couldn’t they have just cancelled the Rose for this year and made the Cotton a semi final bowl?
