With the season kickoff fast approaching hopes are running high as usual for a 9 or 10 win season. Of course a 10 win season for the Panthers would garner national sports headlines and 9 would certainly raise some eyebrows.
But this years version of the Panthers is simply not that good.
Doozy has a great opportunity to erase the bitter memories of defeats to YSU and Akron under PC in the first two games he coaches ironically enough. And if he does win them both we will all be sky high and boldly proclaiming this as an early breakout year. Maybe so but 8 wins will be more that enough for this squad to handle.
Road games to Va Tech and Ga Tech are more than likely loses. ND is real good this year and I don't care how tough we play them a win there is unlikely. Throw in a road game to Iowa and our usual lack;luster performance against Miami and don;t forget the o'one we should never have lost ' issue.
I like this squad to win 8 and that would be really really good. If we win more than that I will be sky high and ready for a top 15 recruiting class and better things to come. I think Doozy can win 8 this year. We will find out a lot about how good a head coach he is soon enough. On that point I am very optimistic.
