The day he committed, I posted that Rowan should play his sophomore season at LP then play his 3rd HS season at ND Prep while taking the necessary classes to graduate after his junior year. My thought was that he already had a major D1 offer and was old for his grade anyway, so what was the purpose of further delaying college? Too bad Ron didn't ask me for my advice.
If you read the entire article, it appears Louisville may lead regardless of whether the family moves back.
DC you might need to read the article again. It only mentions that Louisville is recruiting him very hard. I would imagine that everyone else is also. No where does it quote Rowan or his dad as saying that Louisville is the leader.
No, I read it the same as you. I was reading between the lines. It is either a Mike PSU White hit at Pitt or either Rowan or his dad lean toward Louisville, IMHO. Otherwise why only say Louisville is recruiting him hard? But, maybe I am Pitt paranoid.
From different things I've read, Louisville appears to be the "leader" but nobody has officially ever said that. A lot can still happen, but if I had to make a prediction, I would say he winds up at Louisville.
Wouldn't worry or read to much into it. he (probably) won't be at louisville for the 2015-16 season. His dad is basically pimping his son out fo basketball thats why the move to florida (and back). But we neeed to stop whining if he comes to PItt good if he doesn't just as good. trust me after a successful 2015-16 season Pitt's recruiting will change for the better weather we get rowan, and heron or not.
What a complete circus. I honestly feel badly for Maverick. His Dad should be ashamed of the way he has dangled his son around. Good God, he is good enough to get offers on his basketball skill. Dad could cause some programs to overlook and take a pass on him. Should be interesting to see what creative ways the Zoo will treat him if he goes to Louisville and has to play at a game at Pitt.
How can you write a piece in a Pgh paper about this guy returning home and not once mention he was previously committed to Pitt?

The anti-Pitt agenda originating from the PSU journalism grads is so pervasive we just take it for granted.

I did when I was on the road. I don't recall anywhere the media was as consistently negative about the home school as here.
You could argue with some justification that the writing style here is to be contrarian, but PSU and WVU consistently get a different and kinder treatment than Pitt does.
White's recruiting articles regarding Pitt signees and targets have been a running joke. He consistently spins them by listing the worst schools who offered a signee and ignoring the better offers.
It's not only PSU grads who are negative. Smizik is a Pitt grad and 'Poni from Syracuse. But to deny the negative spin from a Nitter sports editor is naive. Even paranoids have enemies.
There was an article in the P-G yesterday about the APRs of "local" teams. It was written by the girl who covers PSU. It covered increases in the APR for PSU football and basketball and Pitt football. Pitt basketball had a perfect 1000 APR, but that was not mentioned until at least half way throught the article. Duquesne, Robert Morris and WVU were not mentioned at all until almost the last paragraph.
Mike "Blue and" White continues to be the most negative, anti-Pitt shill in the Pgh media, and it leads me to wonder if some Pitt athlete didn't take his lady and rub his nose into the concrete while he was at Point Park a few years back. A middle school journalist would lead that story with "One-time Pitt commit Maverick Rowan could be returning to LP..." yet he conveniently leaves that out of the article. I pretty much ignore anything Pitt-related he writes.
I saw that as well. The local media is not about to give Pitt credit for its superior academic rating with their athletes, especially since it is better than PSU's or WVU's. The headline should have been that Pitt's basketball team had a 1000 APR, not mentioning anything about PSU since that is not a Pittsburgh school. How about mentioning Duquesne and RMU in a positive light and well before PSU, since Duquesne and RMU are local schools? And forget WVU. Do they even have academics down there?
The advent of the internet has rendered Mike "blue and" White useless and impotent. If he wasn't already.
