Okay, another week and another rumor. The Rowans are much like Pitt, in that they don't want any information getting out. At this point, all I can do, or any other member of the media, is take their word. How much that means? Hard to say right now. Maverick insists that he has not reclassified. With that being said, it is expected to happen. I have heard that the course work is minimal, and we all know about the age element. If the Rowans think that he is going to play in the NBA, or overseas really, he needs to reclassify. It will add another whole year of income for Maverick.

Maverick is never going to be a great athlete. What makes him an elite prospect is his shooting ability and length. The kid is a legit 6'7 and he is one of the best shooters in the class. He has gotten stronger and his body is developing, but his shooting is going to translate right away. Playing another year of high school is not going to make much of a difference.

There are a couple of things that I feel confident about. First off, Cardinal Gibbons was the second choice of schools down there. The first option that didn't work out was a Nike school. The only thing that I will say about the shoe factor now, is that it no longer matters. I felt that he was headed to an Adidas school, but no longer feel that way. I think all options are back on the table. From everything that I have heard, this is Maverick's last year at Cardinal Gibbons. He is gone after this school year. So he will either play at another high school/prep school, or college. My guess is that he moves up enters college a year earlier.

At this stage, no one can even report the correct AAU team for Maverick, let alone college. It was reported that he would run with E1T1, which is a Nike program. Now that is unclear. The Rowans denied that and said they haven't decided.

For what it is worth, Louisville is recruiting him the hardest. Rick Pitino is all over him and has made Maverick their #1 priority. They are losing a significant part of their roster, and he is determined to land Maverick this year.

Pitt is still in the mix. That does not mean that I think he will end up at Pitt. But they are still in it. Whatever that is worth, we will see. But to say that they are completely out of it is inaccurate. I doubt he ends up at Pitt, but the only thing that I know is to take everything about the Rowans with a grain of salt. Maverick will release a top 10 shortly, but it will likely be a smaller list of schools that can accommodate him in 2015.

I know this isn't much, but all that I can report is what I know. With the Rowans, not many know much.
