I see that tonight's game is on CBSSN and that several others this season are going to be on RSN.

I am wondering is there any way to get these feeds for folks living outside the Pgh area?

Hmmm... DirecTV carries Root for me here in NEPA.... and the cable co around here carries it also. You are just a couple hours due north from here... up I81.... but you may have a very different situation there. Because it is still PA here, and the Steelers are very popular up here, and the Pens have their minor league club here, they carry Pittsburgh stuff without having to go to a premium package.

I checked DirecTV for you and to get Root Pittsburgh... you have to go to the PREMIUM package and that gets EXPENSIVE ($100/month). You should however be able to get CBSSN on one of the less expensive packages ($45/month).

Otherwise... I checked ESPN3 and also the ACCDN and neither of them are carrying the Dukes game (CBS has the rights). I cannot check for the first RSN game as it is too far out there.

Here is the link to the ACCDN. They sometimes carry games but it might just be games otherwise on the ACCN... but I don't know.

Yeah, you might be best getting an ISP or TV provider (like DirecTV) that offers EPSN3. Usually games are carried there EXCEPT when major networks (like CBS) have the rights.

EDIT: I checked ESPN3 and they DO carry the RSN games. Of course they are subject to blackout but I would guess that would not be a problem for you.

EDIT: Also.... a lot of times when a game is carried on channels like RSN.... other channels like SNY end up carrying it.... you just don't know until the time comes.

ANOTHER EDIT: Just checked SNY and, they have their entire college BB schedule for the season and, not a single Pitt appearance. Used to be on SNY a lot. Yeah, when we moved from the OBE to the ACC, we lost our visibility in the NYC Metro area along with the TV exposure and all the recruits we got from that area.

I have Directv......mid-level pkg. No CBSSN for me. ROOT, though. I'll only miss a game or two each year at home. And maybe one or two away??

For me, ROOT comes on the 'Choice' package ($40/month) and CBSSN comes on the 'XTRA' package ($45/month). We got the 'Ultimate' package ($50/month) so, no problem. The only thing more expensive is the 'Premier' package, which is a LOT more expensive ($100/month).

CBSSN is a national channel, so all you need to do is have the package on your provider that includes the channel.

RSN mean Regional Sports Networks. In other words, the games that the ACC/Raycom syndicate. Different stations pick up different games, so it will depend on if a channel in your area picks the game up. The ACC web site will have a list of which channels are showing which games a few days before the game. And as Zara said, those games are all on ESPN3, so you should always be able to watch them on your computer or smart phone.

So I guess the short answer is that someone living outside of Pittsburgh should be able to watch all of those games.

Thanks for the input. I am on Dish Network rather than direct tv and will be keeping it that way for a variety of reasons.

CBSSN isn't included in my premium package. Will see about the RSN games as they come along.

Thanks again,
