The ball went in the air from the QB (behind the line of scrimmage) forward to the RB in the end zone. Why is that a rushing TD and not a TD pass? The reason I ask is:
1. Stanford #71 is in the endzone blocking. If this is ruled a pass he is then an ineligible receiver downfield.
2. If such a play is ruled a fumble with recovery, can teams then in desperation situations "fumble" the ball downfield to extend plays.
3. If that ball hits the ground beyond the line of scrimmage and is recovered by Pitt, is it then overturned by video replay as an incomplete pass.
I'll hang up an await your answers.
Edit: the box score doesn't not list the play as a Stanford fumble. It was a rushing touchdown.
