We posted a lot of updates today. In case you missed anything:

- June is right behind December and January for recruiting activity - in some years it surpasses those two months - and June 2016 is shaping up to be no different. Here’s a rundown of what’s coming up, who’s visiting and more.

- Pitt will hold four prospect camps over the next two weeks: June 4, June 5, June 11 and June 12. The 5th and the 12th are the key days, since the coaches have identified those as the “Senior Elite” camps; last year’s “Senior Elite” camps produced offers to Maurice Ffrench, Bricen Garner and Chawntez Moss, among others, and also saw Kaezon Pugh, Aaron Mathews and Chase Pine show up to work out.

So these camps are significant. Last week, we previewed 10 recruits who are planning to attend the June 5 camp, and we’ll preview even more names for the weekend. Some offers will come out of these camps, and camp offers often lead to commitments - which accounts for at least part of the “June rush” that we see every year.

- Chances are, the first commitment of the weekend won’t be a camp offer, though. Quarterback prospect Kenny Pickett is planning to drive to Pittsburgh Friday night, spend all day Saturday around the program and then drive home Sunday morning. Before he gets back on the road, I expect him to commit to Pitt.

For background, Pickett decommitted from Temple shortly after receiving an offer from Pitt last month. He followed the offer with a visit and then announced that he would decide between Pitt and Boston College. Pickett obviously fills a need in the class at quarterback.

- Pitt will likely get a second commitment this weekend from linebacker Cam Bright. He visited Pitt on Tuesday and came away very impressed, calling the Panthers his top team and making plans to return for a workout at Sunday’s prospect camp. He will visit Bowling Green on Thursday, but he should be committed to Pitt by Sunday night or Monday at the latest.

- In addition to Pickett, Pitt will also host four-star linebacker Tyshon Fogg for a visit on Saturday. Fogg is one of the top outside linebacker prospects in the nation and has a really impressive offer sheet, so getting him in campus is a huge step for Pitt - particularly given the needs at that position.

- Fogg and Pickett - like Bright - are coming from out of state, but Pitt will have more non-Pennsylvania targets on campus this month, too. In particular, there will be a bunch of Florida receivers visiting. Dontavius Butler is visiting next Tuesday, and he is favoring the Panthers. Josh Palmer plans to be on campus on Sunday, June 12. And Antoine Thompson and Carmoni Green have both said they are looking to visit Pitt this summer (Thompson said of Pitt, “I love the way they play ball at Pitt,” while Green said that DB coach Renaldo Hill told him “how much I remind him of Boyd”).

- Speaking of receivers, two other top Pitt targets plan to be on campus in the next few weeks: four-star Philly standout Mark Webb and New Jersey three-star Evidence Njoku. Both are high priorities for Pitt, and getting one or both on campus would be big for the coaches.

- Pitt legacy and receiver target Connor Heyward visited on Wednesday. He’s playing things pretty close to the vest, but the Pitt coaches have done good work with him. The theme that keeps coming up is that the coaches are trustworthy; Heyward said that he sees it, he has said that his older brother - Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Cam Heyward - sees it and he has said that his mother sees it, too. The family seems to like Pitt quite a bit, and while Heyward says he doesn’t plan to commit this summer, the Panthers seem to be in good shape.

- While on the topic of receivers, Bethlehem Liberty’s Darian Street - the younger brother of former Pitt receiver Devin - plans to announce his commitment on June 18. Street is down to Pitt, UConn and Kent State, and the Panthers look like strong favorites. In fact, at this point it would be a surprise if Street doesn’t commit to Pitt.

- West Virginia cornerback Derrek Pitts also visited Pitt on Wednesday. That’s a big visit for the Panthers because it didn’t seem like he was giving them much of a look.

- Sunday’s prospect camp will bring even more offered recruits. In addition to Bright, running back target Devin Darrington will also work out with the coaches on Sunday, as will commits Exree Loe and Kyle Nunn.

- Maryland three-star athlete Tariq Castro-Fields told us on Wednesday that he plans to visit Pitt this month, as did 2018 standouts Isheem Young and Saquon Anderson-Butts. Anderson-Butts is targeting June 16 for his visit, but Castro-Fields and Young don’t have anything scheduled yet.

- On Thursday the Pitt coaches will take part in the first of three satellite camps they’re participating in this summer. The first camp will be in Atlanta on Thursday, and then the coaches will be at a camp in Ft. Lauderdale on Friday before returning to Pittsburgh for their own camps over the weekend. Then some members of the staff will head to New Jersey next Wednesday for a camp at Paramus Catholic.

That last one is expected to draw 600 players. Two notable prospects for Pitt are 2018 quarterbacks Artur Sitkowski and Kevin Doyle.
