Saban totally dissed the U of Tennessee

Ok I'm not trying to fight I just was pointing out you can out gain a team and lose, sometimes by a lot more than 70 yards but turnovers are the great equalizer. VT did themselves no favors in that game I just hope they do it again next Thursday.

Okay....did you even watch the game? VT out gained Tennessee by 70 yards.

Take away stupid VT mistakes and they win essily.
Yes, and I hate UT. They were outgained because they scored 17 with less than 15 yards because they forced turnovers and then they gave up a 79 yard drive when they were up 28.

The game was 14-0 VT and then they had a bunch of turnovers. UT capitalized and VT never recovered. VT had more yardage than UT as well. I am not saying VT should won, but I think that was the point of his post.
Yeah, and it was a terrible "point".

Reread my post...it's in reference to Tennessee getting top ten preseason, and seemingly being ranked in the preseason the past few years, despite doing nothing to indicate they are a top ten team. And that includes beating Northwestern, which you and I know that, if Pitt or most other schools were to play them, would be immediately dismissed as no big deal.

If Pitt were to Win out, that would include a win over Clemson, which is a far more impressive victory than anything ut has done recently. But since Pitt doesn't play Rocky Top.....
If Pitt beat #13 Northwestern (who won 10 games and beat Stanford, @Duke, @Neb, vs. PSU, and @Wisconsin) by 40 in their bowl instead of getting destroyed by Navy, then Pitt would have definitely entered the year ranked.

It wasnt a terrible point. I stand by what i said...VT should have won... fumbling 5 times is a fluke that usually doesn't happen.
Take away the VT mistakes and they played a better game than Tennessee.

Except they didn't. Tennessee ran the ball down their throats. You can't just take away all the turnovers they forced and say they would have lost. They won by 3+ scores and it would have been 4, if not for the prevent defense garbage TD on VTs last drive. If you could, I'm sure UT would trade that game for A&M where they had 7 TOs and lost 5 fumbles (but...wait...that usually doesn't happen!!!) but only lost by 7 in 2OT. OMG, they even outgained A&M!!!! They even played them on the road!!! Crazy that teams who lose the turnover battle lose the games almost all the time, huh?

Just a terrible point/position. Tennessee is overrated, but they most definitely beat and deserved to beat VT and their only two losses are to undefeated top 6 teams. And they are one play away from their only loss being to the clear #1 team in the country/defending National Champions.

Gotta say, hard to argue that point!

What game were you watching?? VT moved the ball better than TN did ALL DAY! You act like VT only moved the ball on one drive because Tennessee allowed them to do so....that wasn't the case at all!
VT lost because they made a bunch of mistakes....of course VT deserved to lose...THEY MADE MISTAKES.

No, I act like UT had several long drives, ran for 250 yards, forced turnovers, and several short fields plus a long drive by VT with 3:30 in a 28 point game swung the difference in total yards gained. Oh, yeah, and they won by 21 points.

BTW, if you point is that VT moved up and down the field and would have scored, if not for their turnovers, these are those drives obviously showing "VT moving the ball better than TN did ALL DAY":

#1 Started the drive at their own 20, ended up fumbling after moving the ball to...their own 15. (bad QB/RB exchange)
#2 Started the drive at their own 16, ended up fumbling after moving the ball to...their own 29. (fumble forced on tackle)
#3 Started the drive at their own 34, ended up fumbling after moving the ball to...the UT 21. (fumble forced on tackle)
VT is down 31-17 at this point
#4 Muffed punt return.
#5 Bad Snap

So 3 mistakes by VT and 2 forced turnovers by UT. Only 1 came during a quality drive by VT. VT played really well for 1 quarter. UT played really well for 3 quarters. The game wasn't close.
