recruiting director is leaving the program for a bigger opportunity, don't expect his position to be filled anytime soon than

Another one bites the dust.
This wont end until it ends, until PITT gets its athletic dept act together and invests in a quality AD.
Otherwise plan on scaling back PITT D1 sports since no organization can move forward with constant turnover of good people!

This happens everywhere. People are always looking to move up to a higher position to better themselves. He loved Pitt, this must have been a good opportunity for him.

Sure it does but not with the frequency that it happens at PITT.
How many football coaches have we had in a short time
New AD two and out
New OC one and out

PITT needs to get some stabliity in place or it will be one step forward two steps back. With each of these frequent changes PITT loses ground.

Turnover happens as another said. Few but the very top programs are exempt, and even those see assistants leave frequently.

As always, it's not who leaves, but the quality of the replacements. And how quickly. The one thing where Pitt seems an outlier is how l-o-n-g they take. You'd think with that extreme degree of caution, they'd have more success in hires...

Who the hell is monitoring the movement of position coaches at other schools? Ever think the only reason you hear about all the ones at Pitt is because you read every detail about them?

Ummm, yes.

Coaches leave constantly. Especially those in the recruiting department. He got a different job. A promotion somewhere.

This is not Tim Salem, the TE coach.

Even if it was Tim, why is it that big a deal? Is the Michigan site throwing a pitty party because Tyrone Wheatley is leaving?

True Dat. Programs like that usually see it as opp to upgrade. We see it as a opp too ... an opp to save paying a salary for a few months until we grudgingly hire whatever is hanging around our offices holding a can.

Might want to get out and live a bit.

Wisconsin will be on their 3 DC in 3 years. 20% of the P5 head coaches change every year. Auburn's OC just left for Uconn.

Pitt has turned over 2 coaches in 2 years. Just happened to be the same position.

Sure it does but not with the frequency that it happens at PITT.

I get that and thanks for pointing it out!
One and out is not good for any organization but as another poster mentioned if an organization upgrades with the replacement things can settle down.

So far PITT's history doesn't point to competency in replacing outgoing personnel!!!!
More concerned about SP/AD leaving and we replace with a loser.
Not to mention the football HCoaching turnover after Wanny was fired.
The Dixon departure and the Stalling replacement. This was like replacing a running water toilet with an outhouse.

Sometimes history can be a tool to forecast the future which for PITT is a concern!

Change your tampon, pour yourself a glass of Merlot and take a nap.

I already did all those things except changed out the Merlot for a few Fireball shots and I'm still concerned we're going to F this up! Lol!
fyi- Concerned that Salem left not concerned about his replacement.
I'm hoping we replace the AD with a winner same for the OC.
The Dixon replacement with Stallings was like replacing your running water toilet with an outhouse.

I can understand the concern about turnover based on recent history in Pitt athletics. But I don't think that the same criteria to evaluate Pitt's process is relevant now because circumstances have changed. I believe that the Pitt administration at the highest level is ready to advocate excellence in athletics, and ACC money has made helped to make this goal more achievable. Therefore, the past should not be used as a barometer to judge the possibilities for the future. Fireball shots help allay concerns as well.
