Sam or Dejaun would both have been better choices to name a street after and in honor of than Major Harris. All three were Hill District natives but Sam and Dejaun stayed local after high school and achieved success at Pitt. They are perfect examples showing what you can accomplish not only growing up in the Hill District but also staying local for college. Based on their ages I would believe the Mayor and Major grew up together.
