Is it me or does it seem Paul Zeise did a much better job at covering the panthers. Every article, especially the chats are horrible compared to when Zeise was covering them.

I disagree as much as it is humanly possible too. PItt coverage has been poor but I was pleased with this summer, once camp started, especially with Werner.. Zeise wants no parts of covering pitt hoops or football, despite obvious reasons you'd think he would want to.. Werner actually seems to like talking pitt sports and not acting like it's pulling teeth.. Zeise wants to talk nba 2 hours a week on the radio, that's his choice and one he has earned, I wish him luck.
Considering Werner plans his vacation around when Pitt's spring game is, I do not read him or the PG anymore. I strictly read Jerry DiPaoli's blog and articles...the Trib actually puts out material that doesn't put down Pitt on a consistent basis. The PG is strictly a PSU run paper...please do everyone a favor and stop reading that paper.
I think it is key to remember that these guys make like 25K a year... but I think if Werner wanted a 'better' job, he would certainly try to pump up the fan base and excite his readers a bit more. I know 'homerism' is a bit lame, but come on, we are talking about college football. These kids are not getting paid and shouldnt be, so freaking write solid, positive pieces and many of them.
I do think he is much better than he was... but just seems that he is always focusing on negatives like the Boyd thing, and from the whole Narduzzi press conferences the only thing he seems to focus on is the snide against psu and the 'quarterback controversy' which we had to read about each week instead of just the opponent, the schemes, the player studies, or many other things you would read from a good beat writer.

Think that blame is on pitt's gestapo-like tactics in releasing info / player accessibility to the media.. Tough to get blood from a rock.. There is a reason that PG and Trib have articles covering the same player on the same day on the days during summer camp... it's not a coincidence..
I don't think he is that bad. I follow him on twitter as well and he is constantly giving updates.
As for Zeise moving on, he pretty much had to due to his son being on the team. Had to remove the bias.
