Heather,
I read that Sandy Barbour got her contract extended, and most likely, but not absolutely, plans to retire. THAT is why she pushed back any renewal with Pitt to at least 2030. She just does not want to deal with it.

Who knows but doubt it. I'd guess Pitt at best in their once a decade pool of home/homes and Pitt got a double shot.

I'd rather Pitt or PSU drop football before they play again. The infatuation is extremely annoying.

WVU vs Pitt is a better rivalry anyways. At least they acknowledge us as rivals, no "lol temple second best team in PA" from the condescending PSU fans who cant beat OSU
the backyard brawl is just as big, accepted by both sides unlike the pitt-psu games and much more recent. Pitt-psu games lost steam in mid 80's. Backyard brawl was heated well into the 2000's..

It’s still heated I’m friends with WVU students and they’re still scoreboard watching Pitt games and doing all the rivalry tradition uhh... “ESP”...

Was thinking maybe they show out of town scores at Heinz field and include classic rivals, if the rivals are losing of course

Barnes signed a 4 yr deal with them from 22-25 as he was having trouble with PSU. I think the Brawl will return to every year, and it would be nice to have as the last game of the year, as there are 4 out of conference rivalries with ACC vs SEC teams. Of course, the Big 12 would have to cooperate.

Honestly I’m still in my late teens and I get the PSU rivalry and still think it’s a rivalry, it’s just soured by the failure to continue it + personally on a moral ground I don’t want to associate with a school that immortalizes a guy who hid what we all know now. Although WVU are a bunch of rednecks at least they consider us a rival.

A rivalry needs to be recognized by both parties. PSU doesn’t recognize Pitt as their rival as much as OSU, and honestly I don’t recognize them as a rival as much I do ND, Syracuse, or WVU. Even VTech I feel more rivalry than PSU.

But this all you got. Over how many years, that is all you care about, like this the only thing that is important. You have 113 posts on this site, and I am guessing 110 are about Pitt playing PSU and scheduling.
You got too much time on your hands to look up how many posts I have made.

I'd rather play WVU every Sunday night before Labor Day to start the season. Almost guaranteed national exposure and a cool way to set this rivalry apart.

That is a strong possibility if the Big 12 won't let WVU play an OOC game at the end of the season

Reasonable post.

how many posts? it's actually right there, underneath your name & date you signed up.
You still have too much time on your hands to be annoyed by what topic people post. I am retired and our generation wants periodic contact, and whenALL of your kids and spouses went to Pitt or PSU, we talk sports a lot.

Pretty confident both want to continue the series beyond the next set, not as much anymore as annually though.

Heck, you can post all you want. It doesn't matter to me. I was just responding your post where you stated that the guy had to Look Up how many posts you've made, when in fact it is right there, for all to see.

Post away my man, post away!

They cannot do it annually. The math does not work. But one home and home per decade will get this game to a fun game, and the bile and vitriol will diminish for most. Both schools are in the same situation now as P5 schools. Win your division, win the championship game, and get into the conversation for the final four.

OSU doesn’t now, never has nor never will regard PSU as a “ rival “

I’m sorry if the management, fan base and AD at PSU don’t understand that yet after X amount of years in the Big 10eleven

But that’s just how it is ...

Everyone conveniently forgets that PSU wasn't all that welcomed by the fans of other B1G schools when they came in and are still regarded in many ways as an orphan.

This is a lie. I hate PSU with everything in me. That means its a rivalry. They know it and so do we.

ups doesn’t want to schedule Pitt.
All of the Pitt AD’s tried to get it done and barbour shot it down every time.
Let them rot in h@ll with paterno and his fellow child molesters.

WVU does nothing for me other than remind me of Pitt's time in The Big East.

Prior to The Big East, WVU was just another game on the schedule.

We had some good games as Big East foes, but it's time to focus on ACC games.

Throw in the Notre Dame rotation, and one decent OOC game, and the rest of the focus should be on ACC games.

The closest rivals we have in the ACC right now are Syracuse, Miami, Virginia Tech, and maybe Georgia Tech?

North Carolina, Duke, and Virginia don’t have enough of a consistent fan base to hold down a rivalry.

Raleigh are you still mad because the good people of Morgantown asked you to leave?Even though Morgantown's average IQ per person went down 3 points when you packed your yugo and headed South on I79!
