Saturday Baseball Doubleheader

Pitt wins the first game 9-3 by scoring 9 runs on 3 hits. Not 13, 3. BC pitchers walked 11 batters and hit one. BC took their starter out in the 5th inning before he gave up a hit, but Pitt had already scored 3 runs and had the bases loaded. The reliever walked in another, then they brought in a second reliever and he walked in a run too before Ron Washington singled for Pitt's first hit of the day to make the score 7-2. Matt Pidich got the win to go to 4-1 on the season.

The second game is currently in the 12th inning, tied 3-3. Pitt scored two in the top of the 9th to tie the game. In the 11th BC had a runner thrown out at home by Maldonado on a single to center to keep the game tied.

David Yanni with a two out homer in the 12th to give Pitt a 4-3 lead.

Yaya Chentouf threw 82 pitches in relief. If the past is any indication, that means he's only available to pitch three innings tomorrow.

We have one more game vs BC & 3 vs GT next weekend. We need as many wins as we can get because we finish vs Louisville & Clemson, both of whom are ranked.
