Good idea by the Pitt folks though they should have spaced out the soccer game more, maybe 4:30 or 5.

Pitt basketball vs UMBC at 2
Pitt soccer vs Hostra (Sweet 16) at 4

Maybe they can do a promo, buy a soccer ticket and get basketball for free. Who would have thought we'd be saying that 10 years ago? Soccer attendance has been great though last night in the Round of 32, it was probably one of the worst crowds of the year as it was 40 degrees and a downpour. Hopefully better weather Saturday. Come out to the game if you're going to be at bball.

Was it Pitt’s decision?
The basketball game probably more than soccer. So they could have conceivably had hoops start at 1. But they obviously had that announced before the soccer game against NIU was played.

Nothing about football. You are a communist aren't you? You really are.

I'm considering it. I agree that it would have been better to start the soccer game just a little later. If you stay for the whole basketball game there is a decent chance you will miss the first few minutes of the soccer game.

And you wont be able to get a seat for soccer (if the weather is ok). I am planning on having to stand the whole soccer game. Oh well, I guess.

Pitt could have scheduled the soccer game at any time Saturday or Sunday. The NCAA gives almost all control to the host school. Now, if Pitt wanted to schedule it at 8AM or midnight, the NCAA would have said no but they surely wouldn't have cared if they kicked at 4:30 or 5 to allow basketball fans to walk over.

I have no problem with standing during the game. In fact if it's as cold as the current forecast calls for, standing may be preferable to sitting.
