If it is true that there’s 72 billion dollars of illegal SSI payments paid out. How many years has this been going on? You can’t blame on the Biden administration only, this has to have happening for many many years through many different administrations. The problem to me is there was no oversight of what was going on at SSI with stupid people working there and no responsibility for their stupidity in the job.
I agree, we should lock up whomever was President when this program was created...it says here that the EBE program was created in 2017.
Hey so fun fact, I know a little something about this (maybe enough to be completely wrong) because my business partner just became a U.S. citizen in the past year after living here on his green card for the past 15 or so years. The biggest reason that I have a hard time believing the words coming out of their mouth is that it seems like their words are describing the EAE (Enumerate At Entry) but their chart is clearly labelled as totals from EBE (Enumerated Beyond Entry). EAE is for asylum seekers and the people they are talking about which I believe does have a path to a SSN, but the EBE is for permanent non-citizens already in the country for years. Both systems were started under Trump's previous term to get more legal residents paying into Social Security.
So the EBE form that is relevant is the N-400 that is for legal residents and people that did come here legally. To apply, you must be one of the following.
1. A lawful resident of the United States for at least 5 years.
2. The spouse of a US citizen.
3. A lawful resident for 3 years but divorced over domestic violence perpetrated by the US citizen spouse.
4. Spouse of US Citizen that works outside the US in limited industries.
5. Served in the US military for more than 1 year honorably.
So while the EBE could be used to give SSN's to asylum seekers, it would only be after they passed one of the five tests listed above. At least that's how I believe it works.
Edit: The EAE system was created in 2002, under Bush. The EBE was created in 2017 under Trump.

Well first they dropped a bombshell that millions of 150 year-olds were receiving benefits. Without realizing that SSI payments end at 115 years old because of an Obama-era restriction. Then it was revealed that Big Balls, the grandson of a KGB Colonel, doesn't understand the COBOL code the government system runs on and therefore didn't know that incomplete or unknown birth dates default to 1875, which again trigger the automatic non-payment flag in the system.
Then they claimed that a bunch of children were receiving illegal SSI "loans"...without realizing that those are perfectly legal survivor benefits to keep orphaned kids out of poverty and in schools.
So if there is so much fraud happening, I'll wait until the tens of thousands of federal indictments come down to believe it.

Confused. Are all Democrats fascists, or communists. Or both? This is exactly the type of absurd and incendiary language that further divides this country. It's unfortunate. Get a bunch of neighbors in a room, shut off social media, and the majority of reasonable people -- from both parties, can and will find common ground.

I'm a moderate Democrat. Like most, I want to protect social security for deserving Americans. It is easily saved by lifting the "cap" that currently exists...today, taxes stop being deducted at $176,100. Most sensible Americans agree that this cap should lift once again when the wage earner hits $400-500K, understanding that the couple making 200-300K with two kids and living in an expensive area aren't living high on the hog. Lift the cap and social security is...secure!
If most dems know the solution to social security it should have been done. There was literally just a plant president who signed things with an autopen. Why was it not done?
On a plane so my internet is wonky, but i'm pretty certain such legislation would have required Republican support. Primarily Democrats who support lifting the cap. Forgetting political affiliation for a moment, would you favor reinstating social security taxation at $500K? Seems reasonable to save social security?

I think it's true that SOME Democrats will look to criticize ANYTHING Trump/Musk do, just because of their general mistrust. The same is true of Republicans during the Biden era. Again, we all need to do our part to stop screaming at each other, to listen, and to admit that both parties are often wrong, and both parties do some good things.
If you lived near me, I'd invite you and some of the most ardent Trump defenders here for some burgers, hot dogs and beer. Bet we could find some common ground, and disagree without screaming at each other. I might even throw in some steak tips if it's going well.
I agree with you though. I have a really good friend. He a dem from NYC. Great guy. When we debate issues we agree on the solutions most of the time. But when Trump is mentioned his head explodes. By brother is like that. The good thing is we both acknowledge that and use it as a joke at times. Neither of us takes it personal. Too many people are caught up in the. Blue team red team nonsense which is what they want. Personally I despise both parties as they both have sold out American citizens for decades.

We need more of this. I don’t fully trust musk motives but I’ve not seen much that he’s done so far that is bad. So as the saying goes judge him by the fruits that he bears. Let’s see how this ends up. Moreover at the end of the day it’s Congress that will have to codify into law or the budget the changes he’s identifying for there to be a lasting effect. And being the synic about both sides neither will do this because they both benefit from the waste and corruption

We'll see how it all plays out. Trump worries the crap out of me...would be much more comfortable with a moderate D OR R, who is not so volatile and divisive. Question is...can anyone pull this country together (to a degree), particularly with all of the misinformation and disinformation pinballing around social media 24/7.
We need SOMEONE who can somehow unify. I'd love to see a Presidential ticket with a Dem/Rep. or Rep/Dem. Bipartisanship shouldn't be impossible.
