IMHO--

Causes--

1. Getting overconfident after Duke win
2. Not defending 3-ball decently at Wake
3. Bad size match-up with UNC
4. Opponents focused on stopping/slowing Champagnie
5. Emotionally down and discouraged for Notre Dame.

The Cure--

1. Team leaders meet.
2. Capel's starters shake-up.
3. Re-dedication to a team effort
4. Less dependence on Champagnie alone to carry the team since opponents will focus on stopping him.

A win at UVA remains highly unlikely--but, hey, VA Tech beat them so it isn't impossible.

Hope to see at least a competitive effort vs UVA to prove somethnig lasting was learned from breaking the losing streak last night.

What happened to toney not taking outside shots? He's a good from outside the arc against VT he took 1 three point shot and made it,, and he's been pretty good at them, but he seems hesitant to shoot them now, he is a different player these days

I think maybe being 0-8 in the last two games, and 4-27 the 6 games prior had something to do with it. He's shooting 31% this year and 29% for his career. His game isn't outside shooting.

BTW, he was 1-2 for the VT game.

Yeah, I don't think it's that simple. Something is going on here where you don't just play great against a more talented Duke team then play like dog feces for three games and all of a sudden play great again. Sorry, I'm not buying it.

Perhaps you are right. But Occam’s Razor says the simplest answer is usually the best.

Don't they say that shooters need to shoot their way out of a slump?

Were Toney a shooter, that might be the way to go; but he's really not and I admire him for recognizing his temporary shooting issues and adjusting appropriately. He has plenty of other talents he can utilize to help Pitt win. He doesn't need to force threes when he's off.
