Script on backdrop (original) does not match big script on table.

How hard is it to get this font consistent?

Looks like it matches to me. I really hope they change the gold to more of a mustard or yellow.

It doesn't: look at the rounding of the top of the stem of the P, the i, and both ts, as well as the left edge of the t crossing.

Paco, you really have to look over that to notice it. Im more concerned that we seem to use about 6 variations of metallic gold..

I noticed it immediately, yesterday, when watching the presser.

Details. No one pays attention to details. Color consistency is important too.

Personally, I dislike the like white trim.

Agree. It's hard to even notice, but yes the Metallic gold should go. A Mustard or yellow would present itself much better.

you and me Dion but I think we are SOL. I think the color scheme is here to stay. Metallic yellow with that darker, midnight blue. All the gear is that color (check out the coach's hoodies, other programs gear) so to expect a mustardy yellow or a lighter blue is wishful thinking.. I do suspect we get a throwback / alternate uni to appease us.. All I ask is keep the golds consistent in the same uniform..

The space between the P is noticeable.. Actually, now that you pointed it out, well yeah.. It's gonna annoy me now and had you not said anything, I wouldn't have noticed. Kind of like my buddy ruined tequila for me. Told me it tasted like melted butter, told him he was out of his mind. But since he said it, I think of melted butter when I drink it and It makes me sick.

At this point, I'm thrilled its not a giant dinocat staring off to the left into space.

I always think the most important thing is to recognize a logo from a long way away or at a milisecond glance. The table to me might make that P pop out just a bit more which is a good thing. I'm not sure if that's the reasoning but it looks cleaner to my eye.

It might be a scaling issue, like the school has a large seal and a smaller, less noisy one. As you shrink the script, you lose the ability for the negative space. It also might be an issue related to the sturdiness of the print. It might be a stronger result with all the pieces sharing more connections.

When the official re-branding happens, Nike/Pitt will issue out all sorta of approved fonts, primary, secondary, alternate logos etc etc etc. Until that happens you'll see stuff that's a little inconsistent because there is no "official" thing to work off of.

I guess that happens at some point in May.

(as for the curtain thing vs table thing, some local tailor/print shop just made something on their own- wouldn't have been licensed, hence the inconsistency)

Has anyone heard more about a new panther logo to coincide with the script unveiling in May? Pretty surprised that and any uniform tidbits have not leaked ...at all.

I follow Phil Hecken at Uni-Watch.com , he's usually on top of these leaks and things long before anyone else...i DM'd him a few weeks ago, he hasn't seen anything.

I guess like the KS hiring, Pitt is keeping the whole thing on lock down.

The ones on the backdrop are thicker, making it look like they are different script because parts appear squeezed together. I think we are splitting hairs on this. They are the same script and both look great.

Late Summer? .... Why is that? Is there a search committee ? Checking facts? Operating in the dark? I thought for sure this stuff would roll out at the same time....

Marketing and branding has never been our forte. bringing some guy in from Utah State wont change that. But oh wait, we brought in a guy to oversee marketing and branding and he is from University of Tennessee, a real school so this should help. What? Tennessee at Martin, oh my fault, never mind..

They will issue something because that is what would be trademarked; allowing Pitt to go after illegal/unlicensed reproductions, vendors, etc etc etc.
