The only Pirate conflict is the opener with YSU, so that game will probably kick at noon or 1. The Pirates are away for the Sep 16 OKST game and the Sep 30 Rice game.

The OKST game sounds like a 3:30 kick. Rice sounds like one of those 12:30 Fox Sports South syndicated kicks though the last 2 times we played CUSA teams, it was a night FSS game.

thank goodness for an early kick off time for the fcs scrimmage.. the memories of cooking to death in the high noon sun for nova and the ysu game 2 years ago, really holds a warm spot in my heart..

I love the idea of a 3:30 time for Ok State SMF, hope you are right on that one..

the last two scrimmages we played were brutal. Last year, I looked over at my two little ones and they looked like they just walked thru the sahara.. I had to take them to the "shady" side and we sat up in the 600's to avoid sure death.. not sure how the rednecks in sec country do that every week..

The Bowling Green loss was the only game I've ever been to where I took my shirt off. It was that hot. I think that saved my life. It felt like I was sitting on the sun.

The High Octane debut against Buffalo was a record high. I think it was 96 or 97 but thankfully it was a night game. I remember getting home after midnight and it was like 85 and I went swimming.

I agree when I am at games like this, I dont understand how the SEC folks do it.

Well, I can tell you as a child of a redneck growing up in South Carolina I never, ever remember the heat stopping us from doing any activity that my children did growing up in PA, i.e.we can home from school, 5th, 6th, 7th grade and went out and played tackle football until supper time. I believe that we were conditioned for the heat. ( I do remember the dry, crunchy "grass" at the end of summer and beginning of fall) . Now, I cannot not speak for the preppy types that do not have callouses on their hand as we worked out in the heat almost daily, their ability to do it is a mystery to me. By the way we rooted for all South Carolina teams when they played out of state, the Gamecocks when they played Clemson, and Alabama on New Year's day. Uncle "played " for a short time in the late '30s for the Crimson Tide. Dad and uncles always held Pitt Univ and football in high esteem because of the Pitt teams in their youth. I came to PA in '72 with another southern, Coach Majors and started following the team in fall of '73. What a great time, and it is my hope that all of you that missed Pitt football in the 70's will get the opportunity to experience the excitement of multiple years as a NC contender in the city!!!

Ouch.

Bourbon, gorgeous women in sun dresses, and winning.

ok, well that would sure help.. touche
But, really, just buy the shade side seats, no matter the city on a hot/sunny day. It is a no brainer. I will now take worse seats in the shade for more money than sit in direct sunlight for a 2:30 September game in Alabama (or Pittsburgh). Alabama games can make it a lot more expensive, but for Pitt/Steelers, the shade is the choice every single time.

I wonder how many others here have had the front side of their legs burned from wearing shorts at the
opening game? It seems like a yearly ritual for me.

Yous guys want hot? Ok - this past year's North Carolina game...yous have no idea.

Pitt fans (including me) who were there know....absolutely brutal heat that day.

It was 91 or 92 for the PSU game and even though it should have felt hotter since it was packed, for some reason it didn't. Maybe I was in too much of a zone or a trance to even feel the heat.

My question is how many fans died because they kept their shirts on?

My question is the opposite how many fans died because other fans took their shirts off?
Some should receive a warning label as they enter the stadium- Caution It Is Unlawful To Remove Shirt In Public!

I damn near failed latin class my junior year of high school because some girl took the final test in a sports bra.. I kid you not, chick was one of those under the radar types too, quiet blonde who is silly hot now but one you never paid attention to in high school. She comes in, and takes off her shirt and is wearing a sports bra. How in the hell am I supposed to figure out what the hell is going on when I have that 15' away from me. My magistre (think that's teacher in latin) said to me to focus. HOW?

Daytime will be too hot and nighttime will be too cold.

Can we kick off and play the entire game right at dusk?

Worst heat ever was Fraud's first game. 103. Came down the mountain from Somerset where it was only 90 (103 in Mountain heat), and coming thru the Squirrel Hill tunnel watched the temp in my car creep to 103. Then you add in the rib fest it had to be 130. Actually took an umbrella to the game for the sun. It did help standing outside the stadium. When I went in the stadium they allowed me to take it in but told me I couldn't open it up. I sit in upper deck away from river score baord, and looked behind me to row after row of empty seats and just laughed.
