ok folks summer like always is going much too fast and training camp is around the corner. Its pretty clear when looking at the schedule that the first and last month of Pitt's schedule will be the most challenging.YSU-PSU-Okie State-Ga.Tech and Rice are the opponents. Lets hear your won-loss predictions. We need at least three wins of these five games or another decent but underwhelming record is possible. Assuming we beat YSU and Rice where does the third win come from-how about a fourth ? Its time for Pitt to have a breakout season - I am not getting any younger.

Pocono - What is your prediction? I will go 3-2 with a good possibility of 4-1

YSU - W
PSU - L ( could win but need turnovers and stop their running back)
OSU - W ( could lose if we cant stop their passing game and have to play catch up )
GT - W ( We will play well against their triple option )
Rice - W

2-3

YSU- W
PSU- L, worried about the young DL in this one
OKST- L lots of yellow seats after PSU loss, team comes out flat
GT- L young defense beat up after first two games and then run over by GT
RICE-W

However i still think PITT puts together a good season only losing one other game to either VT or MIAMI (probably miami)

I'd take that and run. 4-1 would be a really good record and likely would lead to a 9-1 start going into the Thursday night game against UNC. I just am not that optimistic this year. I still think 8-4 is a great year. I am guessing 7-5.

I'm thinking 3-2 with wins against Rice, YSU, and GT. If we could split with PSU and oSu, I'll take it. Depending on how that works out, we should enter the UNC game with a 7-2 or 8-1 record.

3-2 seems most realistic with losses to PSU and OSU. 4-1 would be a great start. Anything less then 3-2 would be a real disappointment.

Oklahoma St. is not and really never has been a great defensive football team. Of course, we had perhaps the worst defense in all of P5 last season. That said, if we get Paris Ford qualified and in our defensive backfield to join Whitehead, we will look so much different than last season. We gave them a run in Stillwater last year, if our defense is improved at all, I see no reason why we can't win a close game at home.

I will go with 4-1, which would set us up for a pretty good season.

You mean the game with Wisky's QB out and the backup could not throw the ball more than 10-15 yds? Wake me up when St. Penn beats a quality opponent at their field.

LOL, yep you know me. The guy who went to the BIG10 championship game with my pitt hat and shirt just to get a rise out of the nits..

Well I'm not gonna sit here and try to prove im not actually a psu troll so anyway...

I think the biggest early game is @GT after those two big games vs top 10 teams. If pitt can get that one they have a decent shot of making a big run before those last couple games against Miami and vt.

4-1, with a loss to OK State. Call me crazy, but I think PITT may be even better running the ball this year than they were last year. PSU couldn't stop the run the last time PITT played them, and I don't see that changing this year.
If the secondary can create a turnover or two against OK State, who is going to try to throw the ball all over the field, PITT has a chance. I still think they have the upper hand with their starting QB and WR who torched the PITT D last year coming back.
