Pretty much have to either quote or add a intro line to whoever we are answering.I've never been a fan of topic view etiher.
Of course, we all just have the option of NOT spending so much time reading and posting here.
Naa ...
So what you are saying DT is you don't like that i post or read the hoops board or was that just a general statement? Cause you and I have never had any issues have we?I've never been a fan of topic view etiher.

Okay thanks I'm with you agree topic view not a favorite and agree we have that option we will adapt I'm sureOh, no, no, no ...
I was agreeing that I don't like the new format (hate topic view).
But instead of complaining, we all have the option not to post anymore.
I doubt any of us are wise enough to use that option.

You did not have to click on every reply. You had the option to see the whole thread by clicking "show all". Or you could view selected posts by clicking that particular post. I can't see why people don't think that option was the best. This thread is easy to follow. I think you guys will adjust.
As for the old way, I have no idea why you all enjoyed clicking on every reply to read them. Sounds awful to me.

Isn't clicking "show all" basically reading it in topic view?
Anyway, CP seriously needs to make one big thread where people can complain about the new format.
Still better than TOS, in look, posters, content and moderation. This new format sucks!
Can't follow thread scrolling is all you do horrible.
anyway
Seems like those that are complaining the most are Dixon's biggest supporters.. Hmmmmm
And another 1 chimes in to prove my point...
Hate it.
For the life of me, I can't understand the drawbacks of this system..
I respect the opinions of you guys who don't like it, but to me it is just way more intuitive.
You don't have to click 1000 times. Every reply isn't titled "reply", you don't have confusion from some ppl using topic and others using thread, you don't have confusion from some people responding to the wrong reply, and lastly, you don't miss anything.
You can quote a reply or you can start a post by mentioning someone's name.
I've been on this board since maybe 2000 and the only time I've ever had problems following a thread is when people erroneously reply to the wrong post.
Anyway, if you need any help or advice I'm sure plenty will be willing to help.

There are other forums??I get some complaints. I do think the color scheme is rather jarring, and that's the #1 issue I'd list. But in terms of functionality; it's really intuitive and more in line with 99% of forums nowadays.
I loved thread view. Especially in very large threads. I could see the ebb and flow of sub conversations and only go to those parts of the thread. In this view I don't see a way to do that. I have to scroll through the entire thread. This new format sucks!

At this point we will just have to agree to disagree about which way was better.
As I said on the premium football board, I suggest you try to get used to this new board. It isn't changing back. I'm sure posters will be more than happy to help you with questions.
Its going to slow the board down a lot.
TOS is a little better with football discussion, this site has always had much better basketball posters and discussion and as noted, there is a real strain of morons posting on the TOS basketball board right now making it barely tolerable.
But, I have mostly stuck TOS because the design makes it easier to follow discussion even before this update.
The thread view made it easier to follow things here to an extent.
This format is too expansive in layout and then in going into the actual threads.
It REALLY limits the ability to have conversations within topics.
Look at me, conversing with you.
Ski....just view his post, then hit the reply button. Type in your response & post. I was a thread guy, like this approach better. When I return to a thread, I'm moved to any post I haven't read. Saves time, I think.Way too complicated, drunk. How am I supposed to know I'm replying to you?
