2 Pitt grads, Willard and Oliver Antigua recruited a Top 3 recruiting class of NYC kids. Then Antigua left to coach with his brother. Orlando is probably getting canned so if you're looking for an NYC recruiter, they dont get any more connected than Oliver Antigua. What a great class he orchestrated.
Highest bidder when Tiny Morton said he would bring Isaiah Whitead and Desi Rodriguez to whatever school hired him.
He wound up leaving after a year, it was a really weird situation.
I'm just saying .. We used to pound the hall .. They have some really , really talented players right now ..
Nope, it's legal to hire a HS/AAU coach to get a kid it just tends to be dicey. Huggins did it to get Michael Beasley to K-State and the father of Dedric and KJ Lawson openly promised to bring his 3 sons with him to whichever school hired him onto their staff. Memphis wound up hiring him (and they were originally from Memphis).
I don't know what happened with Morton but he was definitely hired by Seton Hall and now he is back coaching Lincoln HS after only a year with the Pirates.
Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting. KWill is killin it.
I just don't get it .. I never would've thought I would see a seton hall team this talented .. Crazy .
I would bet the BE does not have 1 team in the Final 4, and at most 1 team in Elite 8.
He has made the NCAA tournament once in six years. I am not sold on him.
I am sure its all above board. Makes total sense that lsu got simmons and williard got whitehead and didnt pearl get heron.
I'm willing to bet they really aren't much better.
Biggest difference is they aren't playing and getting beat by Pitt, uconn, Syracuse, Wvu, Louisville, etc every week.
It's not like they lit it up ooc. They played Ole Miss, Georgia, and Rutgers....who all stink....along with a bunch of other teams that stink.
That has a lot to do with it but come on, we played SHU a million times. I havent seen an SHU team with that much talent since Dehere and Gaze. They have some straight-up ballers. Dang they looked good.
This SHU team would smoke Pitt by 10! Not a fan of Willard. But in college BB it only takes one great player to make everyone much better.
They recruited well and methodically added pieces to the Setan Hall basketball puzzle over time while we didn't realize there was a puzzle to be put together!
They were the BE doormat when PITT was in the Big East.
