Shaka Smart Doing a Pretty Nice Job

He's also practically a sixth defender for his team. Anyone who thinks Jamie is crazy on the sidelines just needs to watch Shaka for a little while. Jamie looks tame next to him.

Sean miller was standing 5 or so feet on the court yelling something at someone the other day, as the opposing player shot FTs. I was surprised he didn't get teed up

Archie Miller would come tomorrow , but Nerdy gave his two pals about 25 million dollars of Pitts money combined. Glad that buck tooth fool is gone

Archie Miller (reportedly) has shown an interest in the UNLV job. You'd be amazed, but there are also a lot of people around town who are convinced Rick Pitino is going to be the next UNLV coach. He was previously a candidate years ago and has connections to the city. UNLV is notoriously frugal when it comes to paying coaches, but people are saying that donors are coming forward to pony up for Pitino if Louisville dumps him.

I can't imagine that Miller would leave Dayton for UNLV. It isn't 1990 anymore. He's with the top team, in a better league. He's going to be in line for top half P5 jobs, and he can take his time until the right one comes along. He's not likely to jump for a non P5 job, unless Kevin Ollie left UConn for the NBA, and he'd be foolish to take a crap P5 job as well. He's in a really good spot. Shaka Smart was patient, and he's landed in a very good spot. Miller will do the same.

I read something that Dayton is a junior laden team and Miller may consider staying until after next season because they may have a real chance at a national title.

There were all types of rumors about his brother leaving Xavier all the time. He waited, and he landed a plum job at Arizona. Archie will do the same. He could end up at Louisville if Pitino leaves.

Well yeah, I'm sure we all do. Most of us realize there was never a chance of him coming here.
Dixon's not going anywhere for a while. But that aside, folks have tro realize that so long as Pedersen was AD, no accomplished coach in FB or BB was coming to Pitt because of his reputation as a meddling, hard to get along with tyrant. So when you talk about the chances of any coach coming to Pitt, the situation today is much different and that situation changed radically the day Pedersen was axed.

Of course he's interested. All the trouble he's gotten in at Louisville, imagine the fun Ricky P could have in Vegas.

Dayton is indeed a young team. They have essentially one senior who plays, and he was suspended (kicked out of school, actually) for the first semester so he didn't even play until their last non-conference game. Now that he's back he is leading them in minutes per game, but other than him they have one senior who doesn't play much (maybe a walkon?). Their next five guys in minutes are four juniors and a sophomore, and then three freshmen. I don't know how much of a chance at a national title they will have next year, but they are pretty good this year and they should be better next year.
