Watching VCU put a hurting on top-seeded Davidson in the A10 semis en route to their third win in three days. Shaka is schooling Bob McKillop, which is no small feat. Though they lost a few games in a row after their best player, point guard Briante Weber, went down with a season-ending knee injury, they quickly got themselves back on track. Besides being fun to watch, their players are totally team-first and obviously buy into what Smart is selling. No team plays harder.

Not sure which job Smart is waiting on, but he's clearly ready for a job in a Power Five conference.

As I have predicted before

Billy Donovan is going to the NBA

Smart will eventually take over at Florida

Of course, right after I type that Davidson goes on a run to trim the lead to eight. The question now is whether VCU has enough left in the tank after playing three games in three days.

Btw, I am rooting for Rhode Island to win the A10 and Buffalo to win the MAC. Id like to see both Hurleys go to the Big Dance this year (for Buffalo it would be their first time ever).

Bobby Hurley has done an amazing job. The Hurleys and Millers are great coaching families.

He doesn't have the Chicago roots that so many of their fans want, but I wonder if DePaul will take a look at Bobby Hurley now that Purnell is out. Big East isn't nearly what it used to be, but DePaul pays a lot for a men's coach (Purnell was making $1.75 million).
