Biggest areas of opportunity I see for Duzz in recruiting and roster is DE & LB.

With Sims gone & potentially adding a 10 assistant would be smart to add two more coaches with Florida ties

Because if they can land players from Florida with the ability of Sheard/Romeus & Blades/Sessions early on in their careers, the defense will make a turn around real quick.

Charlies Partridge would be nice to bring back, just not sure how realistic it is

I agree that Florida should be the focus. Maryland and DC are nice... but so is Philly, Chicago, Detroit...

We seem to have more luck with the FLorida kids.

I remember getting Blades & Session because that was 1 of the 1st years I ever paid attention to Rivals site w/ any consistency. Neither was a highly sought after recruit yet they both had great backgrounds & came from good H.S. programs. I forget why UMiami passed on Blades (probably his height) their mistake & Sessions was another bonus for Pitt out of Florida.
Those 2 paid off from day 1 in the program.
Highly aggressive, smart football players who never shied away from contact....they were good on any team.

I remember how people complained about session always not plying his assignments. it was topic for three years. he was good no doubt but the board was very critical of him. man how time erases memories

Miami didnt pass on Blades - he wanted to go somewhere different than where his Dad played to forge his own path.

he definitely under performed at pitt. was frustrating to see "What could be" and then to top it off, he goes into the nfl and is a productive player for the colts. You wonder what the hell happened at pitt..

He said he wanted to go somewhere different, but he never got a scholarship offer from Miami. Their loss was most definitely our gain.

In all fairness to Clint Session this board is not always correct on their critique of which players are at fault or playing poorly.
I'm sure Clint did have some games where he was not up to par but overall I would take more recruits like Clint who come in prepared to play & contribute from day 1 thru out their career at Pitt. The kid was well worth his offer & then some when breaking down his career w/ the Panthers.
H.B. was another animal altogether as he was just everywhere on every play or so it seemed. He was smart as a whip out on the field, he was physical, intense & passionate. One of our truly great gets(considering he was from S. Florida, was a legacy at UM from a talent rich family, etc) where recruiting is concerned in Panther football.
And while UMiami may have offered H.B., it was very late in the recruiting process & H.B. & his father felt somewhat slighted by how they slow played him being he was a legacy & all.
In any case their F-up was Pitt football's gain. Can you tell I think the world of H.B. as a Pitt Panther.

H2 PITT !!!
