Tennesee fans are all over the potential hiring of Schiano with social media and protests at the school due to testimony by McQuery that he knew about Sandusky. Finebaum says he doesn't think they will be able to hire him now. Karma, baby.

makes for a readily available excuse for a coach you don't won't because you think he can't win. If John Gruden had the same flimsy Penn State baggage attached to him they would not give two squats about some kids in State College.

Love the faux outrage by the uninformed. Funny, it was basically 100 students at Tenn, not the fan base. Wonder where all the outrage was when he was assistant HC at Ohio State? Oh yeah, we didn't care then, only when it suits us. What a joke, and people buy it, because they love tearing people down at all cost.

For better or worse, fans seem to care far more when persons linked to having knowledge are in the running for a HC gig rather than an assistant gig for an already successful HC. As in, there may have more of a stink if Meyer wasn't having success and then hired GD as well. Otherwise, tOSU fans just wanna win big.

Regarding Bradley, I don't think it's a coincidence he went all the way to left coast to be a DC.

That they don't even see this is alarming , shows ignorance on a whole new level

It's gonna be tough for guys like TB and GS to get a HC gig at a P5 or even AAC school. We've already seen that with Bradley. We're seeing it now with Schiano.

Fans seem okay with them being under the their leader of the team as opposed to being the leader of the team.

I wouldn't personally hire a single coach associated with the paterno coaching tree under any circumstances. Just like I wouldn't vote for a Roy moore under any circumstances. There should be a line in the sand between child pedophilia and hiring someone.

It was tough for Bradley even before there was a whiff of a scandal. Temple and UConn said no thanks then.

If Bradley couldn’t get a gig like that even when he was riding high he ain’t ever getting one.

these coaches stuck around too long, same thing that happened to Bud Foster. being loyal is one thing, staying forever hurts you. Hurt ganter and some other coaches under the paterno tree. Bradley should have left in late 90s instead of trying to wait out paterno for that job.

So what if a coach on the staff didn't know a damn thing , and left to take another job, is he also unfairly judged?

That's my point. If you are the institution doing the hire, you don't know who knew what. Paterno claimed he didn't know either then changed his tune later under oath. He isn't going to admit "yeah, I knew about Jerry and didn't do anything." So if I was looking to hire a coach, I don't touch the paterno tree at all. And yes that might be unfair for Greg, but I wouldn't want to stake my reputation on someone associated with Joe paterno

How long was Narduzzi a assistant? Since the 80's.

What faux outrage? Tennessee wouldn't have backed out because of "basically 100 students". Sorry.

If he didn't know a thing about it, then he's an utter moron. So I wouldn't want him as a coach anyhow.

All of those coaches, including Paterno, either knew or participated in the rapes. For decades. It's one of the worst coverups in U.S. history, if not the worst. That school shouldn't be playing football for a very long time.

Again, let's not pat Tennessee on the back. If Schiano was say at Maryland and had back to back 10 or 11 win seasons, they would have been all over the hire. They didn't like the hire, and they found an easy excuse. Which is pathetic.

I am not sure how guilty any of these guys are aside from Paterno and obviously McQueary (who at least did something). There is alot of media saying that Schiano (and others) were vetted and no evidence of any knowledge and also there was nothing that came up in testimony. But....

One thing that is missing amongst some of the narrative that is going on today by sports media and sports talk radio. Yes, there was alot of testimony and alot of interviews and investigation into the Sandusky trial. And no, there is nothing really conclusive to link a Schiano or Bradley or even Big Dick Johnson that they knew, even though they were all defensive coaches at PSU when Sandusky was there.

Let's remember what one of the Prosecutor's said about the Sandusky trial. They knew they had to convict Sandusky first and foremost. So that is what they focused on, that is what they did, they made sure to prosecute, convict and put Sandusky behind bars. Why they didn't go harder and go further across the PSU football program, administration and local authorities is because they seriously feared such a backlash and outcry, that the jury would find Sandusky innocent just to save JoePa and PSU football. So........let's not forget this. That is real. That was a real fear.

They all know doubt knew something.
