shame the dude didn't die that killed the family on Thanksgiving in North Versailles..
What crime did that guy commit that led to a dangerous speed chase that ended with a family being killed. Please tell me it was some major crime. I hope it wasnt something petty. A family is dead because of it.

The suspects used a vehicle and a knife to injure students.
The police shot one suspect!

First off,the link I read it from was a news release on Twitter. Shooting at Ohio State University! So put that in your pipe and smoke it Dick!

It's just shorthand for "violent intruder or attacker". The response is similar as would be for a gunman, except you don't really want to fight/grapple with an edged weapon attacker.
