If you recruit a high school kid that is productive at Pitt, he can use the portal immediately. My understanding that portal transfers can't transfer a 2nd time without having to sit out a year. So, undergrad portal transfers are probably with your team for 2+ years. Plus, you may have college tape to help you evaluate. Seems like a way to reduce the tranfer out numbers on yout team. I'm not sure of all of the rules, but would it help Pitt to take mostly portal kids rather than HS kids? Just wondering.
Should Pitt rely more on the portal than HS recruiting?
