Had some family and friends over, not to watch the game (it was a member’s birthday) but we had it on in the background. Group of 7 all together. Had the TV in the background with the game on.
Only two others of the group went to Pitt. So as is usually the case, the rest of those who didn’t are decidedly NOT Pitt fans … that’s because only schools that have GOOD sports have fans that aren’t forced to because we’re alums.
Being the host I had to run around and get drinks and the like. So wasn’t paying too much attention. Every few minutes or so I heard uproarious mocking laughter aand snide remarks, so I had a good idea what was happening.
And in a nutshell this is why having awful sports is a deadly thing for a school. All of these folks are not WVU or PsU alum so they would be fair game for Pitt to capture as fans. But since the crap Pitt admin has an almost sadomasochistic desire for football and basketball to suck, most holds the school in contempt.
