SI tweeting out TCU close to

Meh, while it may be very true you have to be very careful about what you hear on twitter. For one, much of it is someone seeing a tweet and then retweeting it as if it's gospel.

Two, you have to be careful about what the agent is saying privately to sources in order to gauge what the response is from the institution or team.

In this case, while I feel that Dixon might have a passing interest in the TCU job for a few reasons, I feel that it's primarily to take a peek at how Pitt feels about his long-term future.

We heard similar tweets on USC, Oregon, Arkansas, etc. May be true this time, may not. We'll have to wait and see.

SI tweets are media tweets.

I'm just all broke up about Dixon flirting with another team...for the 6th or 7th time. Hard to find a coach who can lead his team to scoring 43 points in this day and age. Who knows maybe the next coach can find a guard who can actually walk and chew gum at the same time and even hit a jump short on occasion.

Ben Howland left for his dream job.

Where is Ben now.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

Doing a pretty decent job in Starkville. They got better as the season went on and I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the tournament next year.

Agreed - and Pederson is gone. Barnes is not attached at the hip to him like the previous admin.

I think if he really and truly wanted more money, Pitt would give it to him. Even with Barnes at the helm.

Barnes has been unequivocally supportive of him, to the point of saying people need some perspective when it comes to Dixon and Pitt. Those are strong words from the AD, putting the blame on the media and fans instead of the coach. When Barnes speaks it hasn't been the generic "coach speak" votes of confidence you hear, he's been staunchly supportive of Dixon.

I think the issue now is that this isn't about money at all. And, I think Barnes is smart enough to know that if it isn't about money then it's best to just let him go.
