Sibande Coming Back

That is good news, not sure why he wouldn't want to or would not be welcomed back.

Here his quotes from the trib.
“Me and Capel talked about it” “I think I’ll be coming back next year, for sure.”
“knowing I can go in and have a whole summer to work with Capel and be here.”

“Knowing the group of guys I’ll be around, I know I can impact them in a way, too. I can really have a whole year to play and get out on the floor and do what I can do.”

P.S. I hate to nit pick but...
Is there any particular reason why a player needs to address the Coach by his last name in the press? Is it too much to ask that he call him "Coach" or "Coach Capel"?

When I hear HCJC talk about his players a vast majority of the time, he uses their first name once they have been identified, you know like he actually knows them, not like some 1965 Gym Teacher.

haha funny you mention that, I listened to Sibande say “Capel” several times in one interview and thought to myself, I’m not sure I’ve ever heard a college athlete call their coach by last name early. Just sounded odd

what i dont understand is why wouldnt he come back? he has spent his entire life focused on hoops and ended up in the mac. he came here for the exact reason to be on the acc stage. passing up a year of what he has wanted and dreamed of never made any sense. i really didnt doubt hed be back AFTER the departures.

its his time now. the stage is set and the moment is upon him and peopke thought he would just nah, im moving on after all the work i put in. would have been baffling for him to do that.

Yea, I always thought he was coming back. I figured we'd have transfers and open scholarships and Pitt would not be able to replace a 1500 point MAC scorer in the transfer market

"I think I'll be coming back, for sure". Not to nitpick language but take out the "I think" and it is a statement that he will be back. Put the "I think" in there and it adds a level of uncertainty.

If you listen to the Pitt football interviews the players call him Duzz or Narduzzi as much as they call him coach.

I know what you mean though...different times...

And by the looks of it, Horton may be the next to bail anyway.

You are the poor man's Nostradamus .

You know or heard something.?
Or that's the way it "looks" b/c his minutes were reduced in the last 2 games during his most recent funk?

If the latter, you'll need to "look" more closely ---
Pitt still he needs a shooter and he still has the 3rd most minutes on the team.
And shooters generally shot better w/ experience.

IH will still have SO eligibility next season due to the “COVID free eligibility“ year the NCAA has granted everyone this season. With potentially 3 more years left to play I don’t see him leaving after this season either.

Too often there are those that seem to use every game as a referendum on things. Horton is most definitely a streaky shooter. Unfortunately, when his shot isn’t falling, it seems to put him in, as you say, a “funk” that affects his entire game. Ithiel HAS to overcome that tendency. He needs to be a more consistent shooter and a more versatile all-around player.

Maybe the X and AT departures have influenced the opinions of some? But based on a preponderance of reports from several different sources, there were some “extenuating circumstances” and personal issues involved in their cases.

So we’ll see. But still think Horton can fill a role and help Pitt in the coming years. Expect him to respond to the challenge.

I am not predicting it though I will predict that at least 1 of Horton, Femi, AKC, Jeffress, or Collier will transfer. But you can take any group of 5 players and say 1 will transfer and you'll probably be right. Each season, about 20% of players transfer.

Yep he is 100% tied to his emotions and confidence level.

He's more of emo kid. He's got a very bipolar game.
He's got to learn a middle path.

If he stays good

if he leaves great.

really doesn’t matter.. Without a Huge influx of talent in the next 2 classes, The program will be stuck in the 12-15 spot until we find a replacement for Capel

Hey. How are you? Any big plans for the weekend or are we looking at them?

Saturday morning, Hitting the Scotty Gallery store to Hopefully snag a nice CT putter and some High end items. Window shopping only there, that sucks.. Then a round of golf at Pasatiempo on Sunday morning.
Then fly home..

How about you..???

Thanks for asking

Cause those $3-4k (or more) putters definitely sink more putts.

Not for use. I collect.. being left handed, they are extremely hard to find, nobody gives them up. Gallery is only place to really get one now..

Years ago you could get one built and stamped custom. I have a good collection of items

That along with the headcovers is something I just don’t get. And I’m not telling anyone how to spend their money. But I guess with the putters if you don’t use them then you’re likely gonna get it back if you decide to sell.

No action even on CameronCollector?

Well i just heard he's considering it

The headcover business in general astounds me. The TM vault covers make me scratch my head too.
Cameron collector is weak for lefties as is most..been there awhile, but nothing for me. A lot of stock CTs.. but I’m kinda picky..

Had a putter fitting scheduled before Covid at the store, which is the best way to get a putter.. they have a good supply in the back for the fittings, but was cancelled..

it’s out of hand now. The Cameron releases every month are pretty much flippers now. Staff bags are selling for 2-2500 on an 850 dollar bag..

you have about 30 seconds to checkout or items are gone. 75% are people just trying to profit

Yea even though I wouldn’t participate I’m aware and it’s crazy. I see stuff all the time on WRX even though you’re “not allowed” to flip.

I saw those TM Tiger irons were fetching 7-8k on the bay. Insane.

My poor mans 009 is about as far as I’ll go.

I like the Greatest Hits and Wasabi stuff.
Not really into much else.. Putters..

My gamer is one of a kind.. being lefty. I could get in the range of 10-15k for it, probably more. On eBay right now, there a simple lefty CT for 6250.

There is no doubt, none at all, that Knight was a great college basketball coach.

There is even less doubt that Knight was a bully and a despicable human being. The fact that you can find people to stand up for him says as much about them as it does about him. And none of it's good.

Sibande staying helps for sure. Horton will help too, if he accepts his role and stops trying to be Allen Iverson for parts of games. Collier? not so sure, haven't seen much there yet.

Great news about Nike. And we need Horton back too. He has his shortcomings namely inconsistency. But who the heck are we going to get that will be better this off-season?

Is this excursion happening in the figment of your imagination?
