Agreed and why did the Republicans insist on giving Boeing 17,000,0000,000? Do you have any clue of the corruption and cover up that happened with them?

They are both corrupt. Defending one or the other just shows bias.

Boeing is not in financial trouble because of the virus. They are in trouble because it designed a dangerous passenger plane, falsified test results to get it approved, saw it involved in a number of crashes, and now faces several multimillion dollar lawsuits. It deserves them. It shouldn’t be bailed out; it’s management should be purged and held personally liable for damages in those lawsuits. What should be the punishment for knowingly selling an unsafe jet when it crashes and kills people? I would argue criminal manslaughter charges and civil bankruptcy for its executives, not a government bailout and continued weekends at the country club.

Yes, stock went from $95 on Monday to $180 today, the rich get richer.
I do agree with the job angle but I truly hope somewhere in the loan agreement it must be repaid before they do stock buybacks again.

The left will never understand this. Ever.
153,000 American jobs vs 350,000,000 dollars for illegals. No comparison.

I think the point is that Boeing management put them in a terrible bind.
As a Dem I agree in saving the jobs but I think the buyback of stock is being held up for just one year. It should be until the loan is paid back.

    Lmao. You can't be serious.

Yes look at all the fighting they were doing to rescue the employees regarding coronavirus.
And that's not even the complete list.

Yeah, worried about rescuing the employees my ass.

(House Majority Whip James Clyburn reportedly described the coronavirus relief package currently being debated in Congress as a “tremendous opportunity.”
“This is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision,” the South Carolina Democrat allegedly saidon a phone call with fellow members of his party last week.)

it’s a loan but the terms of the loan are not clear. Boeing has said that they would not accept the loan if one of the conditions required a government stake. They also said they didn’t need the loan and could survive without it While most of the 17 billion would go to Boeing some of it would go to suppliers as well.

they have shuttered their plants in Washington Which employs 70000 people.

its probably best to wait until we hear what strings were actually attached to the loan. I’m sure the 70000 employees are happy the option I’m available

    I thought this was hilarious...

(Mexican protesters have shut a US southern border crossing amid fears that untested American travellers will spread coronavirus.

Residents in Sonora, south of the US state of Arizona, have promised to block traffic into Mexico for a second day after closing a checkpoint for hours on Wednesday.

They wore face masks and held signs telling Americans to "stay at home".)

    Hahahahaha. Ok.

back to the OP, I’m sure that money would be better going to American workers than going to migrants who take American workers jobs. It’s a double whammy!

Not arguing your points. However, Boeing has more to be concerned about than the virus, just saying.

The democrats are moving very close to a split in their party. Hard to imagine the old establishment within their party is okay with the young liberals wanting socialism.

I think a bill like this should be devoid of 'pork'. Only situational concepts should be allowed. That being said, I am not naive enough to think either party avoids corruption. Our history is full of corruption. This bill has some things in it that definitely should not have even been talked about. Some are absurd, such as some examples cited. How about the sunscreen item to help L'oreal, which happens to be in Ky, the homestate of Mitch McConnell? Read about that this morning. I have said before that there should be term limits for Congress, and no special interests involved. But, that is a naive thing to wish for.

Yup the horse trading on both sides is obnoxious. You would think if there was ever a time where they could put together a clean bill it would be now......

I had politicians period I think some come in with good intentions and get corrupted along the way. Most are garbage to begin with

Just another example of unnecessary pork. It has nothing to do with stimulating the economy.

    It is 100% unnecessary pork.

Just one correction. It’s been clarified that this isn’t a stimulus bill. It’s a bill to relieve the impact of the virus.

There are two types of Republicans: those who are morally corrupt and in on the con and those who are intellectually impaired and unaware that they are the victims of the con.

Well I am not sure they don't need it, but their current management is the cause of this. Part of that kind of bailout should be removal of top management and board of directors with no options or parachutes.

This thread was started with a rant by Gas Mask Gaetz whining about providing assistance for Refugees and Migrants. That meathead has treated the greatest epidemiological crisis since the 1918 Spanish Flu as a total political farce. This buffoon parades around Congress in a gas mask and you’re going to chide Democrats for “politicizing” the crisis...you have zero credibility.
