I'm glad PC came... I'm glad that he left when he did. Let's give him credit for taking a program that was in really bad shape in many ways and built a stable foundation. Would he have taken it to the next level? Very doubtful, so that is why the timing on his departure was perfect. Narduzzi can take the program to the next level.

PC is Wisky's coach now, and I hope he is successful there. I don't see any reason to say anything bad about him.

We don't know if Narduzzi can take the program to the next level. He's never been a HC. It's a way different job than coordinator and Pitt is a hard place to win.

But I'll take my chances with him over PC, who I firmly believe wasn't going to get us anywhere except to get Pitt some good prices on propane.

Zeise on the Fan pointed that out and that is why Pitt is copying Wisconsin and MSU Football Programs on Recruiting and Player Development! The Rankings are not as important as the Players you select and want to play for you, and then you make sure coaching them into Complete Teams ends beating the schools that rely on Recruiting Rankings.

It is far more important to develop your recruits into players that play as a Team. Even in the short time Chryst was at Pitt, one could see Pitt's Donald, Tom Savage, TJ Clemmings, Vinopal, and of course James Conners and Tyler Boyd and number of Offensive Lineman just keep getting better.

I would love Pitt to have a Top 10 to 15 Recruiting Class, but I would prefer having Pitt win 10+ games more often, like MSU and Wisky. Right now, Pitt has neither but Chancellor Gallagher Vision is less than 1 month old???

Today, Pitt sign a Class of Players that want to play for Pitt with a Head Coach that wants to be at Pitt and Staff that will be as demanding as the Head Coach, as Pitt awaits for a New Athletic Director!

Wisky has a nice class this year--not thanks to Chryst. The only 2 guys Chryst brought in (other than Hornitoad) are the lowest ranked, weakest offer sheets of their whole class.

Most players get better as they age in a program. What about the ones who regress, like Pitts? I give Chryst no credit at all for Aaron Donald, he was a once in a blue moon talent that would have doiminated under any coaching regime. Boyd as well. Savage was essentially a finished product when he came to Pitt. The O line and Conner, I think PC and staff deserve full credit for.

You are correct and Chryst struggles at recruiting and his Head coaching is still developing and learning and may fail, but he will coach those players into becoming players even if they are only Top 30 recruiting classes, and same for Dantonio at MSU.

It begins and ends with the coaching, and Pitt has had more coaches than any Football Program since 2000, and that is not about players regressing but the instability of Athletic Directors, Coaching, and Raiding and Changing Conferences and now Chancellors.

Penn State had similar changes with the scandal and is now recovering. WVU has stumbled as well and improving. Pitt is just starting its new attitude in changing Athletics as it joins the ACC.

Well, I respectfully disagree, Donald was recruited and coached at Pitt and all he did was work, study, and develop himself and listen to his coaching, and won more Awards than any great Recruits in PSU or WVU's Top Recruiting Classes. Donald never regretted coming to Pitt and is very proud of Pitt today!

Boyd as well. Savage was essentially a finished product when he came to Pitt.

All products can used more polishing at all times! Pitt polished them and is still is polishing Boyd!

Ditto! Whitehead, DiNucci, and the others that came to Pitt Today will not have an attitude that Pitt cannot develop them, but will have the attitude they plan to contribute under coaches they know will help them.

And lets not forget who got Whiteheads verbal.

PC wasn't a great recruiter, but not nearly as bad as you bitter clowns make him out to be

I'm feeling much the same way as you raleighpanther.

I get the frustration others are having. I too was beyond frustrated with the past coaching staff. But we are set up much better than we could have been and Chryst deserves some credit for his part. Plus I do think he is a good role model for kids.

It's time we move on and embrace the future.

Can you say 6-6? Repeat three times: 6-6, 6-6, 6-6.

I don't dislike the guy in the least, I just thought he was a slug of a head coach.

I think he did a decent job recruiting offensive players outside of the QB position--the most important position on the offense-- where he failed completely. Even if Travon Champman had stuck, he hasn't even been able to crack the 2 deep at Akron. Chryst built the O line, which will be his legacy here--we haven't had one of those since Mayday, Grimm, Fralic etc.--and you can't do anything offensively without strong line play.

Todd Graham was 6-6 in his one and only year at Pitt and gets vilified for it. Chryst was 6-6 three years in a row with jaw dropping losses to YSU, Akron, etc., and posters want to give him the congressional medal of honor. At just about any school on earth, fans would want him run out of town on a rail if that's all he could accomplish in three full years.

I wanted to see what he could do in 2015, but given the poor defense and special teams, I didn't expect to see us do much better than the previous three years. So I didn't lose a bit of sleep when he left, and I'm not the least bit bitter that he left Pitt to return to his alma mater, hometown, and a much better job any way you slice it.

But, we got better the minute he left. He just didn't have it--and Wisky fans will find that out for themselves in the next few years.
